Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

My one big problem with layer cakes is the way each cake domes in the middle, and then I have to carve the top off. I haven't figured out how to get them to bake flat on the top

Rather than trim, I turn the domes toward each other and level it out with icing.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

They should make convex and concave cake pans, that way you'd get two layers that fit together and come out even on the top.

Thrive to spite them

The last time I made a layer cake I trimmed the domes off and then flipped the top layer so the trimmed parts were iced together and the top had the nice edge.

Home has been better. I was embarrassed and kinda avoided his mom but finally talked to her a little. I haven't heard her tv at all or heard phone calls. I don't know if she's stoppe which she doesn't need to stop but just keep her door closed.

I'm so sorry your living situation is hard, askye. Home should be relaxing!!

I was going to go to church to hear this gorgeous guest choir but I slept in and then started putting around and lost track of time and now it's too late. Oops.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Sometimes you have to have a meltdown to get it through some people's heads!

Also, I am not sure the convex/concave pans would work. Cakes want to be convex.

Is it nutty that I am thinking of contacting the opera I used to work for to see if they need a dresser/quick change person? I loved dressing so much, but I am not sure if I am too old. I always dressed bottom half, which requires a lot of squatting and I am not sure if I am too old to physically handle that, but maybe if I switched specialties to top half? I just love quick changes.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We are having a party for Gary's birthday this afternoon.(His actual birthday is Tuesday) Don't know who's coming, though we know who's not coming. That's the way it usually goes.

Aidan just took out the boxes for Salvation Army. They are the only people who pick up in my area. He also took out the three iMacs. And I am trying to wash my pink Christmas tree. I wish I had a detachable shower nozzle.

Sophia, I doubt it's about being "too old," but it's about your personal knees, no?
