Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

That is terrible msbelle!

We have this weird thing where they collect a monetary "offering" for the physical plant staff and I find it super condescending and also blind to the fact that many of the office staff make less than these employees who are in a union. I am on the diversity and inclusiveness committee, so this year I brought it to the staff diversity officer, and he agreed with me! I don't want to cut these people out of getting a huge cash gift, but maybe it should come from the school or faculty. Or we should do personal gifts/gift cards like they do with me and other office staff. I still get a fair amount, but it isn't presented to me in a weird ceremony, and it is all from Deans and faculty. Fellow staff members give cookies or something.

I am firmly in the no gifts except from the company camp.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good job bringing it up, Sophia.

I bought myself tickets to see Knives Out after work today as a reward for getting through this weird-ass day. Yay!

Now that I'm on my windows machine many of the emojis are boxes and others just look different than they did on my phone. Less weirding me out, I think? They kinda look more like text even though they definitely are not.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I just spent an HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES on hold with the Social Security Administration for a conversation that lasted less than 5 minutes. Long story short, my replacement card was mailed out, they don't know why I haven't gotten it, and no they can't expedite a replacement of the replacement. In the meantime, I can't get paid at my new job until I provide them my actual SS card.

Kill. Me. Now.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Ugh, Maria.

ltc had chills and a low grade fever tonight. She's asleep now after having some tylenol, but no school tomorrow and another trip to the doctor. She was also screaming that she isn't sick before falling asleep.

Whaaaaat? That's nuts, Maria!! I feel like every job I've had they take some combo of documents and one can be ss card but doesn't have to be! That's so weird.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

..which reminds me that I haven't done anything this week about getting my license renewed. At least I can check online to see if the weird charges to my EXPass account have been cleared, which was the main holdup.

Amazing, I can put my hands on my SS card. My birth certificate is another ball of wax.

I need to get going on a replacement Birth Certificate. The Gov't never returned it after sending it off with a million other things (for example, mac's passport card) to get his Certificate of Citizenship. UGH.

If the SSC is just their internal requirement, they can do that. If it is for the I-9, my training taught me that we have to accept any of the listed documents and cannot tell people what to bring in.

As it turns out I have two SSCs. I thought I lost one, went through the hooha to get a new one, then found the old one. I suggest everyone do that, so you have a spare.

Made me go check for my other SSC (one is in my wallet) & bc & put them with my passports. I have 2 SSCs, but they were issued together. I remember going with my mom to the SSA in Cruces in the late 80s, I guess? and carefully tearing them out. I signed in cursive so must've been. Both my brother & I got cards then, not sure if we just never had them or what.
