I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century, and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophesy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Would she like one of those relaxation/immersion things? If she is like me, the real gift would be setting the darn appointment up for me.

Nigel sent me a nice note, and thus the end, for now, of my theatre career. But now I have more time, and I might get to start working on standardized patient scenarios at work

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Food delivery gift cards are always nice.

ltc is already cranky about no school. It's going to be a long day.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

ltc is already cranky about no school.

I bet she's not as cranky as I am.

(It's very slushy/icy here and I completely agree with the decision to close, but WHAT THE HELL AM I GOING TO DO WITH THESE STIR CRAZY KIDS ALL DAY WHEN I'M TRYING TO WORK)

Jessica, I'm sorry you have to work. I don't know what I'm going to do with this kiddo, but it may involve teaching her to do laundry.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I said something to a coworker this morning about how four days is just enough time for me to get really into the groove of not working, and she was basically like, "FOUR DAYS IN THE HOUSE WITH KIDS THANK GOD SCHOOL WAS OPEN TODAY I'M SO HAPPY TO BE HERE!"

Stay strong, parents.

Punishingly Intricate

sj, I think teaching her to do laundry is a great plan!

Also that! At least she can work on identifying colors (or however you sort laundry!), if she can't reach the dials on the machines....

I can already tell I don't want to do any work this whole month, and yet, people keep asking me for things! Meh.

Lisa, how did your self-eval go?

Thanks, lisah. We just put lentil and rice soup in the crock pot. Maybe we'll do laundry later.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I was kinda sorta working over the holiday, just keeping my D2C orders flowing, but I thought actually coming into the office would not be that much of an adjustment. I was wrong. That was so peaceful and tranquil.
