I want to torture you. I used to love it, and it's been a long time. I mean, the last time I tortured someone, they didn't even have chainsaws.

How habit forming is ambien? I have a few from a travel prescription, and took one the other night and it was amazing. I slept great (it's been hard with the splint, and trying to keep the leg elevated, especially when I usually sleep on my side!) Previously the oxy worked to put me to sleep and take the pain away, but now it's more discomfort than pain, so that's not appropriate. So I was thinking of asking my doctor for some ambien to get me through some of this. But I don't want to get hooked on ambien.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Some people get hooked easily, meara, but it's never been an issue for me. I've had a prescription for years and usually fill it every six months or so. I would talk to your doctor about your concerns and see what's/he says.

Well it seems to be working quickly, i was playing solitaire and fellmssleepmandmwokemupmejemmimdrrrdmimwssmfsllkngnoff

I swear I was typing words there. But figured I'd let it stand. (Normally I have an early evening dream about falling in a missed step because my leg twitches or its not frozen from sleep chemical yet) and no I just had one where I dreamed I fell off my scooter instead!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I had a dream that I was rushing to catch my plane. I made it, and I was heading back to my usual economy seat when someone guided me to an ultra first-class spa experience instead. I've gotta say, as anxiety dreams go, this one resolved wonderfully.

Go everyone getting their jabs!

meara, I'm glad your peg leg is doable, if not delightful.

While getting a four-year degree was a huge thing in my family, I can sort of understand teenagers being ambivalent about it these days. There's so much expense and work and no guarantee that it'll lead to secure, decently paying employment afterward.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The part I don't understand is not wanting to get on with it -- whatever "it" is. I was dying to get out of town and out of the house and out of high school (in reverse order, I guess). And I had a great home life and a fine time in high school!

Yeah, same on all counts. I was so ready to move away!

Our wings are not tired.

Same here, and yet my older son would have stayed home and played video games forever if I had allowed it. Younger son isn't the most ambitious person either, but his wife is so that helps. He has at least always worked.

I was outta there! My parents were great, but I didn't even stay home until I was 18.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Me too. I could not wait to get out of the house and into the world.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I got my flu shot yesterday and then couldn't figure out why my arm hurt this morning.

Is Halloween considered a bad thing in Jewish culture or is ltc's school just being super weird about it for no reason?

I mean, it's a pagan holiday, no? I understand any organization based on any other religion not wanting to celebrate it.
