Anya: We should drop a piano on her. It always works for that creepy cartoon rabbit when he's running from that nice man with the speech impediment. Giles: Yes, or perhaps we could paint a convincing fake tunnel on the side of a mountain.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Sophia, I don't know my head circumference, but it's a little larger than average. But not enormously so. (I hope!) If it's stretchy, I can probably make do with a regular size. Thank you!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

ltc: Can I have a snack?

Me: Yes you can have a little packet of cookies but only because you're sick.

ltc: But I'm not really sick.

Me: Then I guess you can't have a snack.

ltc: confused blinking while she tries to decide how much she wants the cookies

That is awesome, sj.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

on the off chance anyone needs to me reach me the next few days. Mac has my phone so do not text or call that, I will have my work phone which is 817 and the 307 and then 7084. Hopefully breaking that up makes it safer to post in this world of everything grabbing our data.

Personal Email is accessible on work phone also, so that is fine. FB Msgr is not though.

rainy rainy day here. I hope everyone has a good Friday.

Congrats, Sophia!

Upkeep is hard, especially when you live by yourself. The only reason why I clean out my refrigerator as frequently as I do is because I travel a lot and I don't want to come home to rotting produce.

I've had some success with breaking down tasks into the simplest components, like instead of "clean the bathroom" I list out the things that need to be cleaned in the bathroom (tub, sink, toilet, mirrors, etc). And then I use both checklists and Google Calendar to prompt me to Do The Thing.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I just did a quick clean of the fridge to make room for Thanksgiving groceries. Also because celery should not be squishy.

Ann, that's a ferret.

shrift, I used a variant of your plan to organize my studying in college. I created To Do lists that broke single assignments down into components. My lists were usually pretty long. But at the end of each day, I could tell myself that I'd accomplished something.

For example, if I needed to read three chapters of the textbook by Monday, I'd list each chapter as a separate item on my To Do list. So if I read one chapter during the day, I could knock one item off the list even if I hadn't completed the entire assignment yet.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I am working from home today, but also kind of cleaning. I did a still big(not maintence four of my bookshelves, wiped off all the books, and have about another two boxes to give away. I am not going to have enough books to fill the shelves! But I am really only keeping book collections (I have vintage etiquette guides and secraries handbooks, and a lot of children's book series) sentimental books, books I haven't read that I think I will read (which was only 4) and academic type books that might be hard to get or expensive on kindle. Oh, and cookbooks, mostly vintage.

I still made my bad and washed my dishes today. I think I might reward myself and cook something! I haven't because I was afraid I would leave the dishes and didn't want to chance it.

Also, thanks for the tip, shrift. I totally do that at work. I am really good at work, and seen as organized and diligent, even if I am a little messy. It is like I just haven't applied those things to life because I have been working a full time job plus theatre for 20 years, and used up all the energy I had for that. And then I just stopped being able to keep it a little bit together

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Unless it's for company, I don't even worry about "cleaning the bathroom." Most times, I do the sink and toilet and call it a day, because I haaaaaate cleaning the floor and the tub.

It keeps me out of the trap of not doing ANYTHING because I don't want to do EVERYTHING.
