I walk. I talk. I shop, I sneeze. I'm gonna be a fireman when the floods roll back. There's trees in the desert since you moved out. And I don't sleep on a bed of bones.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I think that is terrible aurelia. And I have definitely had to do that shift many times. But we aren't working in trauma surgery or anything, and now that I know people working in trauma surgery, I think theatre hours are absurd and possibly avoidable.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

aurelia, I'm sorry you have to work such a long shift. Much caffeine~ma to you.

Still too cold outside, but ltc was much better about wearing a coat hat and gloves today. So, progress. She wants a scarf, but it has to be a pink unicorn scarf, which I can't seem to find.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, man, aurelia. Those are some long days. Sorry.

We had our company "town hall" thing yesterday and it was ok I guess? Big big boss said something about restructuring and swim lanes and career paths that is probably meant to sound promising but actually sounds kind of ominous.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Ooof, -t, I hope it's the former.

aurelia, that's ridiculous! It's a setup for burnout - I know you know this, but I could wish the people you work with would catch a clue.

Woke up this morning to Boaty honking away, opened the blinds, couldn't see the trees at the bottom of the hill for the fog. That would do it! It's reached "Stephen King novel" levels now, I can just see across the quad.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

We normally try to stagger the calls such that my assistant does the early call, I roll in before noon, he leaves at dinner break and I stay thru the end of tech. It just breaks down when someone gets sick.

Our wings are not tired.

I hear ya on the long days. I have to be available during my customer's working hours, approx 6AM-7PM, but then there is a bunch of stuff I can only do when people aren't working, so nights and weekends. It gets old.

Oh fog! We almost never get fog so when it happens I get all excited and make everyone look. They roll their eyes at me. But Fog!

Because books.

Jesus.

I can't even look up the story -- everything Google-related is down for me, but this site is fine. (I think that's a sign.)

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I'm at our front desk and there's a big flat screen TV across from me; it's always kept on with CNN (I think) playing ... but it went out, so I'm enjoying the quiet. I don't want to have to hear the story repeated over and over. (One person came through and mentioned it ... said "are they still doing that?")
