And almost sixty-five percent of that was actual compliment. Is that a personal best?

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm sorry for your friend, Theo.

Mr. S was feeling a bit under the weather yesterday, with a mild fever, so he stayed home with Gary today. (I had a training class today, so I needed to be at work.) Sounds like Mr.S was back to basically normal, including acting up, so he goes back to school tomorrow.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Theo, I'm sorry.

I think I got off the bus at the wrong planet. Can anybody point me to the one that stops at Normal and Ordinary, please?

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Just caught up, too much to meara. Sending hugs and/or kisses and/or glitter flurries as required.

Gud, that "just scrapwood" clipboard is gorgeous. I would have been proud to use it.

Chiming in to say that I covet that clipboard you made, Gud.

brillig

In distracting News, I can highly recommend the British TV genre of Competitive Antiquing. Antiques Roadshow is only the restrained tip of the iceburg. The UK version of Antiques Roadshow is a lot more laid back, and specialists there pop up on the show Antiques Road Trip, where a pair of them get in smallish classic car and roam a region of Britain to find things in antiques stores and auction them to see who can get the best profit.

We've also got the freewheeling Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is, another pair of antiques dealers scrounging for treasures, and Bargain Hunt, where two pairs of regular folk do the scrounging and auctioning.

Most of these are on YouTube, and other stuff is on BritBox.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

It's all too much. M and I are actively scheming about how to get jobs in and move to another country, so we won't have to worry so much about our children being shot in their schools. Except the jobs part is really hard, especially for M, who isn't ready to leave academia yet (though he may get there eventually).

In other news, I have started watching Outlander and it is delightful and captivating and I just want to live in that world for a while, not this one. Not right now, thanks.

I'm so sorry Theo.

Oh, Theo.

I can't find words for what I think of the world right now, work is having some serious drama that I can't do much about but foment & translate & serve as conveyor of Anonymous commentary, there's a man at the pool I actively hate (passive aggressive toxic masculinity. The whole pool staff has turned on him, just by watching. It's kinda epic) and yeah. I should go to bed, I need to go Have Conversations with bosses tomorrow.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

This has been a very hard week. Love and sympathy and support to all who need it. I can't even talk about the state of the world right now. I've added another asthma med to my daily lineup, one I used to take and had stopped, because I keep having asthma attacks and I know they're stress/anxiety related.

Windsparrow, I hope your psych visit went well and you can quell the anxiety demons at last.

Here's hoping Windsparrow is doing well!
