I dragged ltc out to lunch so that TCG can take the leaves in peace.

The neighbors raked our leaves yesterday, and my mother was thanking the dad effusively until he whispered, "It's an activity!!!!" Hah.

I didn't notice that Connie hadn't replied but when she didn't reply to Toni's art deco post, I went looking.

This makes me fee very guilty for not noticing. She and I were always swapping Art Dec and European Architecture pictures. She was always someone i wanted to meet in person. and now

I'm teary eyed and I painted my nails black for her. I'm agnostic so I can easily picture her drinking meade in Valhalla with her beloved. this gives me comfort.

Still to do- The bookcases need to be wiped down. I need to reset the bathroom.

I bonus carpet cleaned the stairs because I find the physical labor soothing.

I am watching We Have Always Lived in the Castle. There is bopnus Sebastian Stan, who I have loved since Gossip Girl. Also, I swear I know the older sister from something, but it just may be that she is SO 1950/60s beautiful.

Much anxiety over inspection next week. I just want it over over done gone. Which is probably not the best mentally, but it is the best I can do right now. I am pretty proud even though it is still kind of a mess. The carpet is terrible, but clean.

So, my head music over these weeks has been interesting to me . I started with Miss World (I've made my bed, I'll die in it), moved on the Ramones, I want to be Sedated. Now I am at Book of Mormon, Turn it Off. Which is frankly my whole problem. DO not Turn it off! Do do the tap dance even if kitty thinks I am nutty.

I am really happy with the plan for Aidan to work for me on Sundays for $20. I can do teenage boy clean! Maria is going to help me with my drawers and cupboards next weekend if I am still here. I wish I weren't so pessimistic, but again, maybe a hard thing to change.

I washed with windows and put up new curtains in the alcove. I of course HAD new curtains. I also have TWO vacuums because I lost one in my house. That is terrible, but pretty funny Still have not really wiped down the bookcases, but have successfully done other things to avoid that.

OMG, the video for Miss World has a big thing saying "Cleanliness is next to Godliness!"

I just cleaned the sink and finished the bathroom. Now just this GD bookcases. I never want vbooks again.

For the last six years, the local art museum has hosted a Dia de los Muertos celebration, with a traditional ofrenda open to the public from the 26th through the 3rd. I walked down, wrote names on a piece of paper and left flowers and a candle, and joined several other people in crying and telling stories. All of the offerings will be removed tonight, taken off-site and burned, and the ashes given to the Sound.

The bigger portion of today - five hours' worth! I must love my friend's kid - was spent with a friend at a high school regatta, which translates to "watching teenagers goof around in little boats, trying not to roll our eyes too hard when the goofing off leads to one crew going in the water (they were okay), and walking the local trails along the inlet during the long stretches with no wind".
