Sue, I must not have reloaded the page before you posted the above. Are you sure it's not Chicken Pox, then? Do you have a fever?
Nope. It's a rash in two blotches and other than a headache on Friday and being kind of tired, no real other symptoms. I keep waiting to feel sicker, but nothing yet.
Good. Keep not feeling sicker.
I asked my mom about her Shingles. They did not cross the center line.
She said she just had the pain, but didn't feel otherwise sick. When she finished the anti-virals, she also stopped taking the prescription pain med. She mentioned to her doctor that she hadn't been taking her Ativan (tranquilizer) and he told her to take it, because it acts on the nerve endings. From what she recalls, that helped more than anything else.
I hope you continue to feel good and that it passes quickly.
I left the US partially to escape Trump and now Brazil has elected its own demagogue. Blech.
Being unable to speak the language means I have my own bubble pretty firmly intact, a nice layer of insulation for my own mental health, but some of my co-workers are not going to be in a good place at ALL tomorrow. And students will be divided. Sigh.
Ugh on Bolsonaro.
Windsparrow, take care. Thinking of you. Don't let the evil brain imps win, K?
I was wondering how you were doing, Gris. Troubled times all over.
I saw an oddly encouraging meme on Facebook: "If you're tempted not to continue living, please do so, even if it's just out of spite."
((Windsparrow))
Best wishes, Gris. I hope things don't get too bad there.
I managed to do a little woodworking this weekend. I cut the sides of the arcade machine I"m making. The rest of it is coming along. Arcade progress The sides will be stained on the outside and black on the inside. I have the stained side done, but still need to do the black side. I also recently made a clipboard for my wife at her office (clipboard) but she didn't want it, so I gave it away at work. It was just a piece of scrapwood anyhow.
Of more interest, I also had a chance to do a little work for the new board, and I think I have all the migration code pretty much sorted. Some of it has been tricky because the data is structured a little differently. By sorted, I don't mean tested so there's a bit more work to do.
There's something about washing, folding, and putting away a shirt that I was wearing earlier in the day that makes me feel efficient.
Ugh. sue. Shingles tends to suck.
I just got an email that my university had a graffiti swastika defacing a sign at our school of music (different campus). I am glad they addressed it, but ugh.
That's very impressive! I've got some of the clothes I plan to wear tomorrow in the washer in hopes that I can get dressed by pulling stuff out of the washer tomorrow morning.
ETA ugh, Sophia. That sucks.
