I wouldn't mind neighbors in another house at all? I don't mind apartment complexes with hallways. I think it is she shared front porch thing that gets me, and I pretty much have always had it. I think even a separate entrance would do a lot.
I feel a little like I am ceiling cat in Terriers, but it is not my brothers house. I am just this entity in the second floor of their house.
I applied for a loan against my retirement account, so I am feeling better about the money thing. I wish I'd thought of it earlier. I am only afraid they will ask for my birth certificate or social security card, which I do not have (or rather, it is somewhere here, but not at all where I thought it was). I can't find any information on what documentation I will need. I have to wait until it is out of pending and in to the documentation phase.
I'm pretty unselfconscious about being seen in wackadoo outfits but I don't like the idea of my neighbors seeing me without a bra.
That's great progress, Sophia!

That's an upside of cooler weather -- in a sweatshirt or coat, no one can tell!

Oh yes. All bra rules are suspended in cold weather. It's glorious.
In college, I spent a lot of time in public wearing a sweatshirt, panties, and boxer shorts, and that was it. (This is why I don't understand the current FB post about being old means you don't care what you wear anymore???)
In Florida I go outside with the trash, dog, or whatever reason in what can only be described as absolutely inside only clothes all the time.
Growing up in Florida I ran out to get the morning paper in just my white BVDs.
Florida is kind of clothing-optional in a lot of places.
I still remember girls going to the mall wearing nothing but a bikini and high heels, and a purse. Maybe a wrap around the bikini but usually kind of open and flowing beachwear.

My favorite pair of boxers-as-outerwear in college had great big blue marlins on them. When I was home for the summer, I couldn't find them, and asked my brother if he had seen them. He said "Oh, yeah, I was out of underwear so I grabbed those." [pause] "You...want them back?"
Me: "NEVER."
Did I ever tell you about the drug dealer who used to take out my trash for me? I actually knew him from high school, but he lived in the apartment upstairs from me for a while. I used to leave the filled trash bags outside my door, and he would hall them out to the trash without my asking.
I never did the boxers-as-outerwear thing, but I did hangout in the dorm courtyard and lounge in my bathrobe a lot. That was all about claiming the space as not really public, even though it was, for me. "The world is my living room" I would say. I have lived in the same house for 12 years and I still feel like I'm intruding on the neighborhood, though.
