Jeez, don't get all Movie of the Week. I was just too cheap to buy you a real present.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

But customs doesn't open for three more minutes so they can't let us off the plane yet.

Oh, that's pretty silly.

Babushka ended up dating and then marrying a guy she had known in Elementary school in China - the reconnected quite a while after my grandfather died. Their wedding was 15 years after, I don't remember how long they were dating before that but my dad was just so pleased at how giddy and happy his mother was ("like a teenager" he would say, which seems funny to me now remembering that he had two teenage daughters at the time and we were not giggly about our dates but she apparently was). My other grandmother never, as far as I know, dated after she was widowed, but I think that was more about her being really invested in her own independence than anything else. Which is where I find myself, pretty much.

tl:dr I'm sorry you are caught in the middle of that Consuela

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Dad started dating about a year after mom died, and a year later his nail tech (he gets acrylics so he won't gnaw his nails down to stubs) said "I need to introduce you to one of my other regulars". That's how he met Patty, and they're still together and "living in sin", which makes me so happy.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Thanks, all. It's just stressful, and they're all very strong willed, so that's a problem.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I guess basically I think your nieces should get over it. Can you just stay out of it?

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Tired and stressed...in other words, life as usual.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I called in sick today to work and stayed in bed until 1:30 except to feed and let the dogs out. I am shockingly unmotivated to care about one ounce of my job.

I really would like a helper to get some stuff done in the house because I am lost with where to start and feeling super overwhelmed.

Thrive to spite them

I think I used Yahoo groups but I can't remember.

msbelle I would be doing the same in your shoes.

So tonight the low is going to be around 47. It's currently 70 something (I think maybe) and Matthew's mom is freaking out. she's always been cold natured and she now is anemic so she is freezing all the time . She just moved from Iowa and I have no idea how she survived.

Currently she has 2 space heaters going (there's no central heat so that is the heat source) in her room, she's wearing a jacket and long sleeve shirt AND she has her electric blanket on. I think some of this is to make sure her room is really warm when the tempeature drops.

She bought a clock with a thermometer and barometer for the living room right now it's in the 70s and she was saying we should turn on some heat so it would be 80.

I like the house to be on the slightly cold side so I am hoping we can come to a compromise in the living room so neither matthew and I will be roasting. We are both in short sleeves and shirts.

I'm pretty sure we will be able to warm the whole house up just based off her room.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Some of fandom was in yahoo groups before Livejournal. Pretty sure I don't have anything there now.

Askye, this opens up some holiday gift ideas for Matthew's mom, at least. Maybe this? [link]
