Boss says they are not kicking me out, just hiring so there is sufficient training. He did this super poorly and I think the hire is someone he knows.
There is no plan, I'll tell you what.
He is saying her first day will not be until 10/28. Good thing because we have no offices at the moment. Also they plan to have her office 45 min away from where I office (I support 3 locations).
It's a whole mess and I am now motivated to get the fuck out.
Yeah, that doesn't sound like a smooth transition waiting to happen.
Reminds me of my friends newish job, kind of similar to yours, actually (she's office support for a drilling company) - they hired her saying she'd be assisting the person already in the office, trained her for maybe a month, maybe less, then moved the person training her to Sacramento. Now nobody really knows what she's supposed to be doing most of the time, least of all her.
Huh. We have a third party service that sends us orders for some of our customers called DSCO. I was curious whether that stands for anything so I googled and apparently it is also part of VSCO, the photo editing app? I don't think they are the same thing...
Timelies all!
Sound like a mess, msbelle, but you already know that.
one of the people I had staying with me this weekend is a roustabout!
Cool beans! Was he a visiting Honk-er?
UnCool, msbelle's boss! Don't be such a feckless dick!
My company is doing the Halloween costume contest the same way they did last year - we're supposed to submit a photo by 10/29 so it can be put in a slideshow for people to vote on and then wear the costume on 10/31. So I'll need to decide which of my many Halloween looks to feature. I think I'm deciding between the costume we're dancing in this weekend and Dorothy the Riveter (Rosie the Riveter with sparkly red Docs. It'll be easiest to get pics of the bellydance costume. Hmm.
A roustabout is a real job?! Huh.
Msbelle, good luck!!
Jeez. First we had the PG&E "planned" power outages, then the earthquake, now a refinery in the East Bay is on fire. Rough time for the area.
Sounds like someone's been reading Latin in front of the books again...
Applied for 3 jobs. Cover letters remain the worst.
