Zoe: Nobody's saying that, sir. Wash: Yeah, we're pretty much just giving each other significant glances and laughing incessantly.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Ugh, that doesn't help at all, Sheryl. Grandparents are supposed to give parents a break.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I need to figure out when I can get a flu shot.

My bassoon playing neighbor uses a bit of Carmen during his warmup that always leaves me earwormed with the Gilligan's Island Hamlet.

You have a bassoon playing neighbor?

I went to dinner with some random folks from the school—the other girls decided after dinner to go on a club crawl run by one of the hostels. Which didn't kick off until 11:30pm. I noped out of that. Too old, too tired. Too "didn't bring any clubwear".

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Do not forget

Stay out of debt

There is one other thing you have to do

To thine own self be true

That's the song!

You have a bassoon playing neighbor?

Yep. The soundtrack to my life is quirky.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Read this.

I tried to read it while waking up. It took time to understand that this is some kind of a parody.

Pix and ND, no fire ~ma to you.

Stay safe, ND and Pix!

I'm off to a book festival for the day, and then to see Rachel Bloom from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend perform today. ltc is spending the entire day with my in-laws, which has never happened before. Should be interesting.

Our wings are not tired.

Watching the fires is stressful, even from afar.

{Sheryl} I'm sorry the grandparents are more stressful than supportive.

Sounds like a great day, sj. Enjoy!

Just got back from doing hospital stuff with my sister. More tests, meds, and restrictions in her future. Step-dad is expecting to be released tomorrow. I figure to head north again on Wednesday.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Sheryl, it's kind of proof of concept that your Dad's attempts at discipline don't work on Mr. S, because it's not that you're not dealing with the poor kid "appropriately" because it's a situation where punishment won't work at all well, and in fact may exacerbate the disobedience and destructiveness.
