I hope everything works out ok, Zen.

Ugh. Found an interesting sounding festival happening here, but didn't want to go alone. Had texted a girl from class about having dinner and she said yes, but eventually she bailed, so I didn't go to the event. Traveling alone is stupid. :(

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm trying to get better at going to stuff alone. There are so many things going on that look interesting to me, but I'm not sure how interesting they look to all my friends, and I don't want to be always pestering people to do stuff with me.

Yeah, and at home I'm more willing to do stuff alone (though still would prefer a companion!) But here in a foreign country, it's a bit harder to psych myself up, especially after dark.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'm planning on seeing An Almost Ordinary Summer at the Outflix festival tomorrow afternoon. Alas, I haven't been able to get in touch with the guy I'd hoped to ask out to it.

Also planning to go round two with the power drill on my hammock stand tomorrow, after a mishap today. If approaching from the other side of the beam doesn't work, I'm going to have to find a professional woodworker who can clamp this thing down and drill into it from the proper angle.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

meara, on my last trip abroad (alone) I was so incredibly lonely. Usually when I travel without Tom, it's for work, but even with work stuff to do, these days I find that the charm has gone out of traveling alone. (For me.)

The status is NOT quo.

This article about women in Angel hit me in the feels: [link]

Oh, god, the Angel and Spike article that's linked in there! The trailer! I miss them so much!

And I'm glad Whedon is generally in the "Eww, icky" category now. Elements of all his shows make me give a serious side-eye.

Our wings are not tired.

That was a painful read. Particularly reliving the horrid Cordelia arc.
