'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Fingers crossed on the grandma possiblity.

I'm practicing backing up the Bus, while I wait on a call for a pick up.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Go Grandmatization!

I had an initial video interview for a job I might want yesterday. I think it went well? Hard to say. Anyway, I'll find out next week whether they want to bring me up for a face to face one. If not, well, my current situation isn't bad. It's just a few hundred miles further south than I'd like.

Herding cats for fun

Today I will go to Half Moon Bay and visit everyone who flew in for Dad's memorial tomorrow. I still feel very calm and very sad. Perhaps I'll lose my shit at Thanksgiving remembering how glad I was to see him last year after his adventure with bowel obstruction in Montana.

Scam alert: I received a call from the Ascension Group looking for "the responsible party" about his estate. Apparently these are carrion vultures trying to get survivors to pay bills they have no need to pay. As if Dad left debt instead of savings. Good thing my sister and stepmom are savvy enough to check them out and decline to speak to them. So FYI in case anyone else has to deal with this.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

No YOU woke up to identity theft and fraudulent accounts.

Apparently I'm not allowed to go more than a week or so without an anxiety attack.

Just tried to put a fraud alert on my credit report with Equifax and I could not pass their questions to verify my identity. JFC!!!!!!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh no, msbelle! What an enormous PITA.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ugh. I'm glad this happened AFTER you bought your house, though!

It looks like the one thing I did yesterday before I found out all our tools were messed up was wrong, and by my mistake not the tools. I can't figure out how exactly what I think I did wrong gave the results I now have, but I think I can fix it without getting to the bottom of that....

Coding and Sleeping

Sorry Dana, health insurance issues sucks. Sorry, msbelle, dealing with fraud sucks.

With the news, I'm trying not to keep peeking at Twitter and keep working on parsing strings into time.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Perl's Date::Parse module is seriously one of the most versatile pieces of code I've ever come across. It can deal with pretty much any unambiguous date or time string you throw at it. It just works.

msbelle - my experience is that once you buy/refinance a house, all kinds of scams and problems show up. The mortgage lenders cheerfully sell you information to anyone who asks. Good luck dealing with them.
