I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Where upstate?

Oswego. It's north of Syracuse. And less than an hour from where my niece lives, which would be nice. Since the niece had her baby, my sister is there monthly, so family-wise it's nearly as good as moving to Michigan.

shrift, that's a heck of a start to the day. I hope the rest is better.

Our wings are not tired.

My niece lives in Oswego. Crazy winters with lake effect snow and stuff, but pretty area.

Thrive to spite them

That sucks shrift.

So Matthew and I are well into GA and we suddenly realize we don't have the gravity chairs I had been planning on taking and daydreaming about using them at the beach I asked Matthew to pack them last night so we wouldn't forget them. But he waited until today and then I was so focused on leaving the house by 9 it slipped my mind.

Dad has beach chairs but the gravity chairs are comfy and have a sunshade and drink holders.

Yeah, I'd heard it was pretty snowy. But I grew up in a really snowy area, so I'm cool with it. As it were. Does your niece like it there, Laura? I'm not seeing a lot online about it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good luck, Calli! I skimmed over your stuff to do earlier, sorry. That's a lot.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Mr. S woke up at 2 and wanted to sleep with us. Which means I ended up crowded to the edge of the bed with his legs draped over me. Apparently it's not just cats who take their half of the bed out of the middle.

My niece has lived there for many years and she does like it a lot. Close enough to Syracuse for airports and bigger stores. Oswego has a college student age population so some restaurants and so forth catering to that set. Small town for sure though! DH spent some time there fishing this summer. Big salmon in that lake.

Yes Sheryl, kids are really good at the bed sprawl! They don't want to sleep with you forever though. Promise, they do get past that.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I'm currently at Melbourne Airport for our flight to America. We've hit a problem. Biyi, being Chinese, needed to apply for a visa, which she did and was approved. What we didn't see on the visa was fine print saying she had to enrol at some website. We've put in a frantic application, and now desperately hoping she can somehow get an approval within the next hour; otherwise, we can't make our flight.
