Ok sewing people: if you had a pair of pants that you got at goodwill that used to have a drawstring but doesn't now, and needs a drawstring because they are just sliiiiightly too big, what would you use as a drawstring? Elastic? A shoelace? I have no idea!

I recommend something not stretchy. Shoelace it if it's long enough and fits in the sleeve should work. Or a heavy ribbon. Crochet hooks are good for maneuvering the drawstring through the sleeve. Knitting needle or chop stick will do in a pinch.
I use a safety pin for maneuvering. But yes, non stretchy. If your sewing store has twill tape, that would work.
So how is your Monday going?
Planning on meeting my sister daily at lunch time to do dog training exercises with our pups for about 15 minutes each day. Had 2nd training class yesterday. Week 1: Just the evaluation resulting in Skinner having to stay after class and being assigned to the group of only 2 for the next week, with the other most distracted pup. The other groups being 4 each. Week 2: After doing our "sit" homework every day last week we performed pretty well in class with the one dog distraction. Graduating to being in a class of 5 next week. Eeep! Hence the practicing with his cousin for homework sessions this week. I may put up our sit practice video on the Buffista FB page....

I am remotely attending an all-day department summit, which mostly means responding "yes" in the chat about once per hour when someone asks if those of us on the phone can hear ok.
All day!
Yeah, that sounds terrible.
I'm a little jacked up from coffee and treats at a going-away party this morning.
Well, all-day for the folks there in person. I'll be signing off at 2:30 to go coach my daughter's Destination Imagination team.
I have already had about enough of today.
It's just usual Monday stuff, really, but do not want
