Zoe: Captain will come up with a plan. Kaylee: That's good. Right? Zoe: Possibly you're not recalling some of his previous plans.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Happy birthday, flea!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Rehab is much better than regular hospital rooms -- they're getting you back to living normally, so you can wear real clothes, do a lot of things on your own, even if its just deciding to take a nap, all the while they're on hand if you need it, and they really do evaluate you as to whether you can go home in a safe manner.

They're also much better than most family members at explaining to the rehabee, too.

Yes, Happy Birthday Flea!

I am trying to think if there is anything between Dogs in Elk and the Bloggess' Giant Metal Chicken that I have found so funny, and not coming up with anything

brillig

I think it's when the dogs get tired of howling in the ribcage in the sideyard and decide to drag the choice bits in through the window that's the best.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I must have just gotten the CliffNotes version of Dogs in Elk before, that's a much more detailed account than I remembered, and for some reason I thought it was Kat & Lori's dogs.

In other news, I found myself explaining to a couple of twentysomethings today why using credit cards to build a credit history is advantageous later in life. Does this mean I've finally become a grownup?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Not quite as epic, but That'll Give You Um Bees was a good one.

I actually never read That'll Give You Bees, but it was, indeed very funny.

I looked up dog in elk because of a thing going around Facebook about a dog less apartment dweller finding and dealing with Houdini dogs from another apartment. [link]

Thrive to spite them

Good morning buffistas. I hope everyone is going to have a good Saturday. Is anyone doing anything fun or exciting? My goal is to get mom a shower today. It was supposed to happen yesterday. She can walk to the shower and when seated in a shower chair be ok by herself.

If I have to turn into the stereotypical I want to speak to your manager Karen to get it done I will.

The status is NOT quo.

I'm running a four-hour leadership retreat with my publications editors. That will be fun, I hope.
