Thrive to spite them

Mom had a mini stroke. She is in the hospital for observation but seems to be mostly ok.

For some reason she cant get my of texts or phone calls. So She texted me to call her when I got off work but I couldn't rech her. Matthew finally called her and he got through.

Mom drove herself to the ER. Despite her doctor's office not just telling her to call 911 but offering to call for her.

So now her car is here and we have to figure out how to get it home. I don't know if she will be cleared to drive. Matthew didn't come up with me because hospitals are difficult for him.

I called work and this may technically count against me. I thought it was 3 strikes and you're out but it's 3 and you get a verbal warning. My supervisor said he hated to tell me that and he didn't thin it would count against me but they hve been really strict. Which sucks but if the least of my worries.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Skye, I hope your mom has a speedy, uneventful recovery! So glad that it sounds like she's doing as well as can be expected.

Mom drove herself to the ER.

I don't understand. I swear I will call 91 if I think I've had a stroke or heart attack.

She is planning on driving home tomorrow. I don't think that will happen.

Oh and she had the stroke yesterday. I think that is what she said but she wasn't feeling well and thought she had a stroke so she wrote something to treat her handwriting.

She wrote (and I'm paraphrasing) " If I don't wake up tomorrow. I want my kid to k ow I love them . Tell E he is strong and brave. And oh yeah I'm too stubborn to call 911. "

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

{{{askye}}} {{{askye's mom}}} Also, askye's mom, if you need to go to the ER, don't drive. PLEASE.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh man, askye! I hope your mom is OK.

I will say, my grandmother would just not tell anyone for days if she thought she had a stroke because "what are they going to do, anyway??"

Oh, it's not just parental units. "I know what my heart attacks feel like, I knew I had lots of time before it went bad." If he hadn't forgotten to take the medical bracelet off his wrist, I'd have never known.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

{{{askye}}} Mom~ma.

Strokes terrify me. But, honestly, if I was home alone and thought I might be having a stroke I don't know what I'd do. When I thought I was going into anaphylactic shock I drove myself to the drug store to buy Benadryl because that seemed like the best idea at the time. I can't imagine me-having-a-stroke would be a whole lot more sensible.

Not to suggest that that's in any way the right way to behave, but I guess I kinda understand.

Good luck, Sheryl!

My mom once waited until evening to call and ask me to take her to the ER because she "didn't want to bother me at work." Fortunately it turned out to be nothing, but I was ready to reserve us adjoining beds in the cardiac unit.

Loved ones why do they do this.

It turns out mom had accidentally blocked my number so that explains not getting through. We got that resolved. Mom's left side seems effected. She told me just now )we are awake for vitals checks) that she feels like she has more movement in her hand and foot. The recliner they brought in doesn't recline as far as it should.

She also may have hurt her knee when she fell feeding the cats. She didn't tell me this last night but she fed the cats before she drove to the hospital because she wasn't sure when she would be home.

Oh and did I mention she had to drive down a mountain road with 33 curves? Because she did . That is the main road to get to town.

I sorry, askye. That all sounds very stressful.
