Oh Sheryl. Three is so much more challenging than two in my book. I think someone here calls three-year-olds threenagers.
You know, my boys are 22 and 18 now. They still eat their cereal dry because (a) there will be no changes (they're both like that); and (b) I never put the milk in their cereal when they were two, three, or four, because I feared the wet toss. My daughter started putting milk on her cereal probably at five or six, but my sons got stuck in their weird food ways early.
With the NSAIDs it may be a small thing? With a fracture vs surgery, or vs putting in pins and stuff?
It could be. I know after my kids had their wisdom teeth out, they weren't supposed to have Ibuprofen for 24 or 48 hours (I can't remember). After that it was fine. But where you've had such big surgery, that makes sense. I can't remember if my oldest could have Ibuprofen right after they put the screws in his shoulder. It was too long ago.
Well fuck. Twelve weeks is the verdict. Which is January before I can even START putting weight on it. Which means I can't drive for even longer. Fuck.
Oh no! I'm so sorry, meara.
I don't remember what city you're in (are you in Seattle now, too?), but some city's transit authorities have paratransit services.
For instance, Boston's MBTA has The Ride. [link]
I don't know if these services available to people with temporary disabilities or not. I have the impression most cities have a similar service. I hope you can find a work-around that isn't too much of a pain in the ass.
Meara, that's awful. I can't imagine how frustrated you must be.
Dang, meara. That's a long-ass time. I'm so sorry.
Jesse, if you want to text with Red2Blue here is a link to get set up. They are much more organized and together than the group I am texting with today.

Thanks!
So, I think that Insane Clown thing is something another department is putting together in the cubicles, not an actual event out in the wild.
The Insane Clowns are coming from INSIDE THE BUILDING!!!
Hey, Megyn Kelly has learned that blackface is wrong and she feels really bad and cried about it so the world has been fixed.
Oh good lord, I don't even want to know what I missed.
Normally I go for naproxen because my migraine doc told me to take it
I am taking note of this. Other OTC options haven't helped.
Oof, meara. That is a while.
naproxen
Add to the library of anecdotes:
I tried Aleve (naproxen sodium) once when I had a plantar fasciitis episode. I couldn't tell that it made any difference to the pain in my foot, but the next day I did notice a sudden onset of two numb areas on my skin -- one at the right corner of my mouth, and one on the pad of my right thumb. It was very odd, and a little scary. The numbness went away after about half a day.
The Insane Clowns are coming from INSIDE THE BUILDING!!!
Yes. And somehow that's better. Sometimes my brain makes no sense at all.
Twelve weeks is a long time, meara. I'm sorry.
msbelle, thanks for that link! I'm gonna do it. I can't go out and march or canvass, and I feel like I really need to be doing something.
meara, that sucks. They gave me 8 weeks before they put me in a boot, and the way things turned out, maybe it should've been longer. So yeah, healing is the important thing. But it still sucks. You broke your right leg, didn't you? Ugh, that'll nix driving for a long time. Sorry you have to deal with all this! Did you dislocate the ankle as well as break the leg?
Yep, right leg, (and yes, broken and dislocated) so no driving. If it were the left leg I at least wouldn't be freaking out about the cost of millions of uber rides (like whenever I start PT—can't get friends to drive me to and from there all the time, so...$$). (Also hi, greetings from "I woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom but I'm in pain so can't fall back asleep. Took one of my few precious remaining opioids and am hoping to fall back asleep when that kicks in. They did give me a few more but weren't happy about it. I'm like screw you, docs, you're not the ones in pain)
I hope sound sleep happened, meara. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this.
Tramp is totally unhinged and dangerous. I wish Twitter would delete his account. Well, I have a long wish list for him, but at the moment that is at the top.
That sucks, meara. I hope you'll a) have a drastic reduction in pain soon and b) find a lower-cost transportation alternative.
