Thank you everyone. I can still remember so clearly the night that I was posting to this very board as I was finding out that I was adopted. You have all been here for this entire journey. It's taken me a long time to process and move through each step on this.

I remember that vividly as well! So amazing you've come to this point. You've had such complex relationships with your adoptive parents as well, and processing their loss. And now you're at this stage.
I'm so glad she responded. As you know, many parents who give up their children for adoption fear getting that contact and want nothing to do with it.
And you have two new sisters too!
Yeah, I just had to go and hunt down the post.

Diligently offending the lurkers in e-mail.
I just had a really odd conversation with a friend of my sister's. I might be adopted, or just my >sister, or just me. Accidental cat out of the bag from someone, I don't know if it's bogus, I don't >know hiow to process this. I also still need a ride home from LAX.
Um, this is really odd...and I don't know what to do.
The memory is so vivid, and what an emotional roller coaster in the years that followed. This is indeed an exciting new chapter. I'm so happy you took the leap and reached out.
In hurricane news, looks like we dodged a bullet there. Checked the 2am update when I made my usual mid night bathroom run and all the forecast lines are turning north. Phew! I have to say people did take it seriously and everyone boarded up. Best result is being prepared and it going elsewhere. Still sucks for the many who got hit.
Oh wow, ND. I am so happy for you, and wishing the best for all of you.
Sheryl, I am sorry for your day yesterday. Not Fun.
Good to hear that you are safe, Laura.
Dang, I'm impressed you managed to hunt down the post Drew!!
I have an alarm going off in less than an hour, to get up and do all the shit for arriving at the soccer fields at like 8am, to run this tournament. And tonight the party goes late. But for some reason I woke up at 430am and have not been able to fall back asleep. 5 hours or less of sleep plus running around and stress and alcohol are not good for my sanity today! But I tried to go back to sleep for over an hour and I guess I give up. Will take my time getting ready.
ND, I'm so happy for you!
Breathing a sigh of relief here over the hurricane forecast. I think my doctors appreciated the trial run this week. We got all their personal devices set up for remote access. When we have a storm internet and power become history and phones and pads become the only method of the doctors seeing their patient charts. The datacenter where we have our servers are fabulous people and will even let you stay there on an air mattress or whatever if you need to be near your equipment. (you really have to need it because lounge area is small and not that comfy!) They even have a car charging station that will run off their generators! Super nerds.
Laura, I'm glad the hurricane isn't going to hit your area. Lots of ~ma for everyone it will affect.
We're being very lazy today. Changing over ltc to a five day a week schedule this year has been an adjustment for all of us. So, I think it is a well deserved pj day.
PJ day for me so far anyway. I may take the dog for some exercise later. DH is going on a picnic with his brother and friends for a well deserved relaxation day since he isn't evacuating now.
