And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

sorry to see her out before Williamson or deBlasio or the other 6 white guys I can't even name
Yeah, that's where I am. I never wanted her to stay in the race long-term, but I wanted at least all of the generic white men to drop out first!

Ann, that's a ferret.

Happy Birthday, meara!

Thanks! I just had some yummy breakfast I made, and am going in a bit to get lash extensions! But I took a shower before remembering I need to weed my patio before people come over tonight. So I'll probably need another shower. Oops.

Hey. New board.

I like Gilibrand fine. Don't think she had a chance, but sorry to see her out before Williamson or deBlasioor the other 6 white guys I can't even name and just had to look up.

538's take, a good one I think, is that she's dropping out earlyish because she actually has a political career to lose. Many of the remaining no-chancers don't really.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just going to ask why Seth Moulton was still running for president, when I looked him up and he dropped out of the race last week! So there you go.

brillig

I called off work to have the gas company come look at my water heater, because I smell gas. My supervisor actually called me back to say "You know, we have work at home options," but my home computer isn't up to it. Darn.

My water heater is fine and the gas company guys are wandering around the building to see if they can find a source. i half-expected them to think I was imagining things, but I guess they learn not to ignore reports of possible gas leaks.

But now I have a moral quandary. I could easily go in to work, most of the work day is left. The right and proper thing to do would be to go in, because we're already seeing increased load from the hurricane. But hell days are coming, if a Cat 3 really does land. I'm working Labor Day, and hte only days off I'm going to see before the end of October are for doctors' appointments. One day to breathe before it all descends isn't that evil.

Our wings are not tired.

Cat 4! Headed to my house. I texted my FL next door neighbor to see if he wanted DH to check his outside stuff since he summers in Toronto. He replied he was in Italy! Had heard there was a storm but no details. He appreciated me reaching out to him. Then he texted me a gorgeous picture from Italy so now I am all jealy.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Cat 4! Headed to my house.

Yikes!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

General storm~ma to Florida!

I'm having millet for lunch. Here are the things I know about millet:

  • In Seven Samurai, the villagers pay the samurai in rice, saying they will make do with millet. Apparently it is less nutritious, or at least makes a lower status meal, or did
  • I like the taste
