Well, a gathering is brie, mellow song stylings; shindig, dip, less mellow song stylings, perhaps a large amount of malt beverage, and hootenanny, well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I alternate between being aghast and bewildered that I am considered middle aged and an adult, and feeling very old.

meara is me. (We're very pretty).

I skipped my 30th a few weeks ago.

Thrive to spite them

I haven't been to any of my HS reunions. The first one I wasn't in a great place and then the next had everything family oriented. The next one is in 2022. I guess. i don't know maybe there isn't a activr alumni group I can find. I was in a Fb group but left and now my name is different on FB

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I skipped my 30th HS reunion two years ago.

one girl put a crown of flowers on the big-ass statue of Mary

Anyone else imagining Mary with a large posterior?

What do folks use for non-electric heating pads? I've had a gel one and a clay? one but those have both reached the end of their usefulness. I was able to ease a proto-migraine last night by wrapping my head in a heating pad, but I don't think I should make a habit of doing that with one that is plugged in.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Anyone else imagining Mary with a large posterior?

Sheryl, best of luck the medication.

With luck, I'll be signing a lease to the new apartment today.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'd always skipped HS reunions on the premise that most of my best friends (whom I'd kept in touch with) were in the class ahead of us, and there was some unpleasant drama at one years and years ago. But I went to my 30th a couple of years back and it was really fun!

Our wings are not tired.

I alternate between being aghast and bewildered that I am considered middle aged and an adult, and feeling very old.

I have been perfectly comfortable with my age since I was 35. I looked MUCH younger than my age when I was younger and generally lied about my age to make it match my made up resume. I was convinced that 35 was going to be the magic age when people would start taking me seriously. It pretty much ended up working out that way. Since that time I have felt my age appropriate for my life experience. I get one year for each age. 65 is awesome. Senior discounts for movies! Medicare! I am delighted to slip into a matriarch role. Yeah, I could do without the need for glasses and unhappy joints, but it is an okay trade for the confidence and wisdom that wasn't there in youth.

I skipped any reunions there may have been. I don't know anyone I went to school with as I was a school skipping hippie who didn't hang with anyone there anyway. If I hadn't moved away immediately after high school I may have had greater ties to the area. I'll see if they have a 50th because it would be interesting to see if I knew any names.

Coding and Sleeping

I feel okay getting old, I don't really fear death.

This last weekend was busy taking apart my car's dash and fixing the ventilation system and doing carpet shampooing. My vent was stuck in defrost position which sort of sucked for using A/C. Being able to blow A/C directly on myself is awesome! This happened before several years ago and I took it to a mechanic to the tune of $1,500. This time doing it myself was about $80.

This weekend will be more shampooing and installing new speakers in my son's car. He just got his driver's license so he's fully mobile now. I already installed a new Pioneer head unit, but the sound is mushy. If it's like my car, the paper cones in the factory speakers are probably falling apart.

I also need to change the oil in my car as it is nearly 3000 miles overdue now. However, I use full-synthetic and a premium filter so I can go 5000 miles overdue and still be okay. It's got 263,000 miles on it now. I want to make it last to 300,000, maybe 325,000. By then my wife's car should be paid off and I'd like to get a nice car for myself. I've had an old Ford Tempo, an old completely base Honda Civic hatchback, and a pretty well used Ford Focus (it had 95,000 miles when I got it) that, admittedly, was a big step up. I'd really like to get something only lightly used or maybe even new. Seems petty, but there it is.
