Because books.

Me either. And she is the last bird in the nest, so to speak. Craziness.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Whoa, that is wild.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Not quite as notable as being a HS junior, but Matilda has grown 2.5 inches since January and is now....5'1".

She's also on the softball team again for her third year.

And now that she's fulfilled her lifelong dream to be a catcher, like Emmett, she is discovering that catching is rather painful and full of bruising.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Go, Matilda! How old is she now?

Okay, time to go pick up ltc from school. I watched 3 episodes of Gina Torres's new show, had a pot of tea, read through my emails, and posted a couple of things on dreamwidth, which is the time of morning I have really needed for a while now.

Thrive to spite them

I am frustrated at work. I think I messed yp my PTO but I swear when I scheduled it I had scheduled all of it. But now it looks like I have 76 hours. Which sounds great but I'm not sure how I ended up qoth that much time left over AND we have a blackout date after Oct until Jan. So I can only use it Sept, Oct and Jan and then I lose it.

Partly this is my fault because I didn't use more earlier but I swear I didn't have 3 weeks of PTO and one week of personal time

information libertarian

Matilda will be 13 in a month. (Signed, has a kid almost the same age.)

Casper, remember her? Turns 16 on Wednesday. SIXTEEN.

I have to keep asking because my brain can't understand them being older than 10.

I think I've worked it out. No wonder everyone seems to be on vacation between PTO and personal days we get 4 weeks off a year.

I've scheduled a vacation a couple weeks after my vacation and then I'll schedule a week in Jan. That way if I get sick I can use the Jan PTO

That's kind of awesome, though, askye! Yay more vacation!

I am SO SORE today. OMG. The first day (6.5 miles) would've been OK, but then having to RETURN gave me a ton of blisters and a lot of sore muscles. Plus, of course, my ankle--which is actually not doing too bad (though it hurt a lot during the hiking). I'm not too fussed about the sore muscles (I mean, yay working them?) but not happy about the blisters (some because I was walking funny due to the ankle).
