All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I'm still trying to figure out what to tell my parents re: burial. Ideally, I'd do organ donation, cremation, and something like this [link] . I'm betting the cemetery won't allow that though, tree roots wreaking havoc an all.

Have I earwormed everyone with a Belly song, or just me?

Thrive to spite them

I'm not sure what my dad wants. Mom wants to be cremated and part of her ashes spread in Oklahoma mountain near where she grew up and "our" beach . Dad wanted to be buried , I don't know if he has a cemetery plot, but since neither my brother nor I live in our hometown I think he might change his plans.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Ugh, I'm going to have to call the stupid job. Why do I have to call you when email is right there?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I think living urns have so much potential to go wrong though. How are one's survivors going to feel if the tree dies, or gets those spider web-y bags of worms?

Eh, I'm not too concerned about that. And really it's the potting soil included that feeds the tree (or tries to counteract the pH of the ashes). Memory Forests are cool, but there aren't any near family or near me.

Getting my body shipped to India for an authentic sky burial doesn't sound too practical.

Just did another round of form signing for the house. Also testing out wire transfer systems and getting an estimation on all costs due at closing. Since Closing is after Labor Day weekend, I'd love to have funds wired over by the Friday before just to be safe.

You can be shipped into space instead: [link]

Forgot to add that I am not a coffee drinker at all, but I have learned -- through making them, and needing caffeine -- to enjoy a mocha or a latte as long as a LOT of sweetener is involved.

I looked at my texts and I saw the house listing 8/1. Sara went to see it for me and while facetiming me on 8/4. Made the offer on 8/5. Offer accepted 8/6. Inspection 8/15. Request for repairs in 8/16. They accepted request on 8/20.

Yeah it's all really fast, but also so smooth.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Coffee is a morning requirement for me. I set up 7-8 cups to go in the Mr. Coffee before I go to bed, and the wonderful bean juice is waiting for me when I get up. I like it with a bit of milk. Coffee ice cream is also delicious. I haven't tried iced coffee, though. Unfortunately, I can't drink caffeine after noon if I want to sleep that night.
