And now my boy's in love. All hearts and flowers. But, doesn't it freak you out that she used to change your diapers? I mean, when you think about it, the first woman you boned is the closest thing you've ever had to a mother. Doing your mom and trying to kill your dad. Hm. There should be a play.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Oh Matt, that is so not a good way to start your R&R. Hope today is very much better.

It has been so far. Great night's sleep, great breakfast, being surrounded by clouds of hummingbirds on the B&B's back deck, and a convenient cooling rain shower just as I was checking out—which let me kill time before check-in at the place I'm staying tonight by taking a walking tour of the wildlife sanctuary. Between the rain sprinkles, the cooldown, and someone in my tour bringing a (poor!) service dog, a number of the big cats were active and came right up to the fence to greet us! Or is that eat us?

In a couple of hours I'll be eating in style myself and touring the countryside aboard the Eureka Springs & North Arkansas Railway dining car.

Our wings are not tired.

I did minimal work today, but did a real good job on my workout for myself. Also did the dishes! Tonight Fish Fry at the local pub. Well, cajun broiled for me, but with booze and my sister for company. I finished the workout early because I knew I wasn't doing anything after dinner.

Here's hoping for minimal Friday News Dump. I've had enough of world issues this week already.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ooh, that's so cool, Matt!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

We're headed home from vacation tomorrow. I keep forgetting that F doesn't have camp or school next week. It's been a good vacation, but I need to be alone in a quiet room for a day now.

Our wings are not tired.

Also, I'll be in SF from Sept 8 through Sept 12, if anyone wants to meet up.

Aaaaaaand I will be in Philly for most of that time (a conference I did not want to attend, but must. Grrrrr).

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Wow, Matt, that sounds great!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Today was one in a series of busy days. But I arranged for vacation time and a visit to see my great niece in late October, so I just have to get through the next couple of months.

Newsflash: it's still hot here. I'm out of ice but I made a pina colada with frozen pineapple and no ice and it's pretty good! Excessive Heat Warning is supposed to end tonight, really looking forward to that.
