Houses! Yay houses!
Today is the second day of my new job. (Yesterday's first day was in AZ, for new hire orientation.) but it's going well! My co-workers are cool, and I'm in nerd central.
Also, because of my new company, I had to get my retinas scanned so I can enter/exit the office. And I get a 30% discount on consumer-grade tasers. A DISCOUNT. ON TASERS. FOR MEEEEE.
Thank goodness you didn't get a job at a blowtorch company.
Huh. How did you learn this?
She used her real name. I need to ping some of the longtime XF people I know and make sure she doesn't have a reputation of some kind.
Taaaaaasserrrrrr.
walks around making "bzzt!" noises under my breath
We also can sign up to get shot with a taser, but it's not mandatory, so that's a relief.
Turns out when you buy a house you all of a sudden have a bunch of stuff to do.
Tonight
- book flights for next week inspection
- book flights for next month close
- set up meeting with potential short-term renter for next week while there
- start a packing list because my brain will be mush
- tell Mac I bought a house
Tomorrow
- certify mail deposit check to realtor
- contact investment co to sell some stuff to replenish my account from deposit
- Contact dog sitter about next week, see if he will take the diabetic foster also - he cannot
- Contact Rescue to find coverage for foster & re-emphasize the need to get Miley placed
- meet with people at Corporate HQ about transitioning to a remote job and working from B'more
- Get info of local realtor from co-worker
Thursday
- one on one with Boss - discuss 8 mo timeline & possible 6 mo timeline
- turn loose list into PM timeline of work needed on house
- Get construction people info from mother
Fri
- try to focus on work for one day
- massage
Wow so much to do, msbelle!!
Dana, I too am curious how you figured that out. And wherever it wS a fan you knew and liked or disliked!!
Atropa, I'm scared of you with a taser. I do feel like anyone who is going to use one (aka cops) should have to get tased.

Well sure, because if you're getting shot with a taser, it'd be a comfort to be able to think to yourself, "I chose this".

Nobody I knew, and probably a few years before I was deep into fandom. We do have degrees from the same small university program, though.
