Thanks, meara!
Goodbye and Good Riddance 2016: We know the world didn't end, because, check it out!
Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Thanksgivukkahmas, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering.
Go away, 2016.
I love the Buffista cards I've gotten! Thanks, Suzi, Bonny, Theresa, and meara!
Thank you for the card, Suzi!
BUFFISTA cards make me happy. Thanks y'all.
As we were prepping our holiday cards, I started to sort them by Buffistas, family friends, people who know Kelly's boyfriend C, etc so that people could sign the cards of folks they knew. I was resoundingly told no - they all wanted to sign all the cards. Which, hey cool. But for any who got cards from me, that fourth signature, with a last initial...that is Kelly's bf. My unofficial future son-in-law.
I'm having fun with the fact that I have two people with the same name living in the house this Christmas. My traditional Christmas gifts to CJ include a bunch of nerd shirts. Well, I also bought C a few nerd shirts and a couple more for Kelly. All 18 shirts are wrapped and the TO line says "Cory". Even the ones for Kelly. The boys wear different size shirts and Kelly's are very obviously hers, so it will be up to them to figure who gets what. I'm a dork, but as a family we have a tradition of wrapping at least one thing in an obnoxious/fun manner.

Okay, it looked like Cory (son) signed it twice. I didn't realize that Kelly's bf had the same name (or if I knew, I forgot). Now I know what happened!
It does get interesting with the two of them in the house. I often call my son CJ or Ceeej (I don't know how to spell it) and the bf Cory. But they have finally accepted the plural - Corys. As in, "Hey Kelly, are the Corys coming with us today?".
Kelly and C are looking at getting their own place in March. As much as I know they need their own place, especially in prep for his daughter to move out here, I'm already mentally going through "this is the last Christmas with everyone at home" and other such "lasts".
I know this is more Natter than Goodbye and Good Riddance. Though I guess in a way it is Goodbye and Good Riddance (ok, not so much the last part).

We have 4 Tims in my extended family (uncle, cousin [son of uncle], other cousin's stepson, and my Tim). I always say I just didn't want to learn a new name, so I picked a guy with a name already in the family.
My stepdad has the same name as my brother, so we pretty quickly fell into the habit of referring to my stepdad by his last name.

That's so funny, Suzi! your house is like a 90s flashback Teen Beat!I'll have to take another look at those signatures now.
My great grandfather's mother, first wife, and second wife (my great grandmother) were all named Emma. And there are a bunch of Nikolais on the other side. Otherwise my family tends to unique (at least within the family) names.

In mine it is the Bobs and John. In particular John Miller. My father, my brother, TWO of my brother's sons (different moms), and a grandson.
With the Bobs when I named my son that 2 of our closest friends and my ex-husband all claimed it was in their honor, and I told them of course, when it was in memory of my nephew and his father.
