"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I quit the CW except for Black Lightning. However, I still follow The Flash through the reviews on Black Nerd Problems, which are hilarious. [link]

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The Black Lightning finale very successfully felt like the end of a chapter, but when it was over I realized that the only villain they actually defeated was the MAGA dude who showed up two episodes ago. Well done, narrative sleight-of-hand!

Hopefully we'll get some flashbacks in S2 showing what happened to the kids in the pods.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

the MAGA dude

That was the part I thought was heavy handed in the finale -- he said the actual phrase twice. We get it, show.

The finale conveniently left out Traitor Assistant Principal, too.

the only villain they actually defeated

I'm thrilled we get to keep Tobias around. He's really good at being bad. And I really like Khalil as a bad guy, too. And I assume that poor Lala is going to get resurrected again next season.

I turned to Ethan after the first one and said "OH, I get it now! He's the BAD GUY!"

Totally. And Cy actually got to speak! Excellent villaining all around.

And Jennifer needs a bullet-proof suit, asap.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We quit Arrow but are holding strong on Flash.

Oh my god, right? Though when she used her powers to rough up Proctor and Jefferson said "Jennifer!" I honestly thought that was going to be followed with "That is NOT how we use superpowers in THIS family!"

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I did, however, snicker at the sight of the family - two wearing light-up suits - "sneaking" past the bad guys in the background. um ... I don't think it works that way ....

I don't even know why Jefferson goes around zapping people with his lightning power. He could just point at the bad guys and say, "I'm so disappointed in you!" and it would be far more devastating.

Seriously. The patented Principal Stare Of Disappointment would turn bad guys into crying messes.

I'm surprised at how much I liked the (almost totally) Arrow-less episode of Arrow. At the beginning of the episode, I said to Tim, "For god's sake. I don't care about Diaz. He's not even scary!"

Okay. I do actually find him compelling now, although I could have lived without that last scene. I feel like maybe this episode needed to be earlier in the season, so we could give a shit about the Big Bad, you know?
