Just here to put in a plug for the unabashedly, ridiculously delightful Renegade Nell on Disney Plus. I binged all eight episodes in two days. Great writing, making a bizarre premise tons of fun, and the protagonist is played by the pitch-perfect Irish actress Louisa Harland, who I first fell in love with as the wonderfully weird Orla on Derry Girls. It shouldn't be as good as it is. Bonus: Lots of white guys complaining about how the premise of a woman being in a war and becoming a highwaywoman is absurd while completely ignoring the pixie named Billy Blind who gives her super fighting powers.
'Unleashed'
Boxed Set, Vol. VI: I am not a number, I am a free thread!
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Renegade Nell
I have only watched the first episode so far, but I second the recommendation.
Strange New Worlds renewed for season 4, even before season 3 airs. Lower Decks cancelled after season 5.
Strange New Worlds getting renewed is good news; Lower Decks getting canceled is bad news, but it had a good run nonetheless.
Lower Decks will still air one more season.
New Who last night! Still loving 15's whole vibe. I was not expecting Space Babies to be an Alien Resurrection diss track, but it somehow worked anyway?
On Discovery... could someone just kill Moll, please?
The fourth time she blasted her way out of somewhere with some slice of the super tech that will destroy the world someone needed to just shoot. her. in. the. head. and solve the whole problem. The Federation doesn't even have to do it, the Breen keep not killing her too. Someone make the woman dead.
I've come to accept the Michael Sueyness of captain Burnham. The actress is great, she's Spock with passion... I accept her as a super hero and get on with it. Moll, however...
I'm enjoying Who but a blue-eyed Paul McCartney was just silly.
I'm not a Doctor Who watcher (I've only seen the first Eccleston episode and the first Matt Smith episode), but I saw so many gifs on Tumblr of the recent episode that I decided to watch that episode. Jonathan Groff was as good as I expected him to be, but WOW, Ncuti Gatwa is fabulous. He's 110% charisma and just delightful. (Edit: and the prettiest of the Doctors, which I assume goes without saying.)
