the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Tom Ellis as Lucifer is super charismatic, but I got stalled out 8 episodes into S1 because the writing is really not my thing. It's sort of amazing how charismatic Ellis manages to make Lucifer when he's written so terribly. Does the writing get any better in later seasons?

I did love seeing Kevin Alejandro again after seeing him on Arrow. And D.B. Woodside just gets more and more good-looking.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I know Tom Welling shows up at some point too.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I think the writing got better but I might have just gotten used to it? Hard to say. I feel like they figured out what they wanted the show to be, uh, not immediately, and once they did it got better.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I have failed to even notice the writing with all the drooling, but they do fix some plot holes as the show goes on, and the Tricia Helfer joins the cast and is awesome!

But then again I was specifically looking for something that wouldn't tax my brain when I was sick.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

In my opinion the writing dipped in Season 2 and again in Season 3, before recovering in the later seasons with the move to Netflix (I'm up to 5.14). The addition of Tom Welling definitely does not improve the show.

It got worse than season 1? Yikes.

Does Lucifer get to say "fuck" after moving to Netflix? He really should.

Tom Welling does not add anything positive to any show imho.

The writing is really not bothering me, maybe because I’m not expecting much from it above the normal procedural with lots of snark. I finished S2 and am taking a little break to catch up on other shows before I start S3.

Also, the female lead is awful. I have hated her in many shows. She's just whiny and not that great of an actress.

Tom Welling IS a BBoC. A very pretty BBoC. He is only made tolerable by his incredibly charismatic co-stars (like Micheal Rosenberg in Smallville)
