Interesting. I hadn't been following the development of that show but I just cast a glance over the casting so far and it's intriguing.

Boxed Set, Vol. VI: I am not a number, I am a free thread!
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
With the combining characteristics of Dracula and Elvis – Lord Vetinari has sprung to life in the most alarmingly joyful way.
Say what now?
I can kinda see it? It's not a description that would leap to my mind, but I can just about imagine how one might get there.
Full disclosure, my mental image of Vetinari might actually be Mr Burns, so...that should tell you how much weight to give my opinion, I guess.
I don't see it, Especially the Elvis part. Vetinari prefers the background.
I could totally see Anna Chancellor as Sybil Vimes, instead of Lara Rossi, who's a bit too svelte for the role (although she would certainly have the attitude right). And Dibbler is now apparently the head of some sort of crime empire. The casting on this seems to be being done by people who have never actually read Pratchett's descriptions of the characters.
That said, I never liked Jeremy Irons' potrayal of the Patrician in The Colour of Magic adaptation even though Sir Terry based the description of Vetenari on Irons in the first place.
I was assuming those were deliberate choices of departure, which might work out.
And Dibbler is now apparently the head of some sort of crime empire.
That's where they lost my confidence. Well that, and Lady Sybil as some sort of vigilante?
(Also, Rhianna Pratchett isn't involved with the production anymore and hasn't been for a few years. which also concerns me.)
Oh no. Oh no!
Vetinari has always been Charles Dance in my mind, even before Going Postal.
Elvis? Um.
Dibbler as a crime boss? No to the ope.
My crushed hopes. Let me show you them.
To change the subject, I was watching Batwoman Sunday and she was zipping around Gotham on a motorcycle. With her cape flying behind her. And I kept thinking of what a bad idea that was and "no capes!" ran through my mind.
Ok, I go away for a long time and I finally have an opportunity to get in here, and no one is talking about Crisis on Infinite Earths?
Wil Wheaton!
Burt Ward!
...And that's the first minute.
And Robert Wuhl!
