Boxed Set, Vol. VI: I am not a number, I am a free thread!
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Yeah. I was shaking my head at Barry outing himself and Team Arrow to Heatwave during the crossover. Mick is still a criminal that enjoys hurting people, even if he's currently working with the "good guys." Not the type of person that you want knowing the IDs of every active superhero.
I imagine Julian is a dead man come the end of the season at this point.
I will say I'm happy that Team Arrow didn't blame Ollie for Billy's death (he's going to do enough of that himself) though this would once again prove why Ollie's decision to go to a general no-kill policy was a good one outside of extreme circumstances.
Arrow: HAHAHAHAHA. Has the fandom completely imploded yet.
The way Laurel was written out of the show never sat quite rightly with me, so I'm curious to see what they're going to do with this. Is she alive because of the Flashpoint? But if that's the case, the Original Team Arrow would have remembered that Laurel hadn't died. This is so gonna jerk around Quentin (some more). I mean, enough with Schrodinger's daughters already!
If they wanted us to feel the tragedy of Billy's death, they should have, you know, made him into an actual character. But he was such a non-entity, all I got was, "huh, so that happened." I was glad that the Arrow Team didn't turn on Oliver, although I almost expected people to go, "Who's Billy?", Gilmore Girls style, when Oliver announced his death. So, the only person who could possibly be Prometheus is the over-zealous DA, right?
Awww, season 1 Diggle and Felicity! What fun nostalgic romp, with a side of rampant murders.
Arrow: I don't even know. What the actual fuck?
why Ollie's decision to go to a general no-kill policy was a good one outside of extreme circumstances.
The fake flashbacks seemed more brutal than normal, but he really did kill a LOT of people in S1. Not just the people on The List, but all their henchmen as well, who maybe didn't deserve to be arrowed to death.

Right? I didn't really care about his relationship with Felicity, because we really didn't see it happen.

I think the DA is the random extra vigilante.
Someone needs to HUG CURTIS NOW.
Ollie mentioned that Prometheus did a weird flippy-type move that he (Ollie) also learned in Russia, but that was never followed up on. So I'm super curious. (Although the flippy thing made me think, for a split second, that MAYBE Prometheus is Roy Harper, because PARKOUR.)
has the fandom completely imploded.
The people I follow are pretty solid Olicity fans and they are washing their hands on the show. Many of them think Felcity will be dead by the end of the season.
I am 3 eps behind, so no first hand thoughts but the big complaints I am seeing:
- Oliver regression
- Felicity sidelined
- no one going to Felicity when her boyfriend was killed
- no exploration of the boyfriend character up to know for this to have impact
Also lots of complaints of misogyny from the show as a whole: Sara, Nyssa, Laurel, Thea, Felicity - all of them serving as tragedy props for the show with virtually no scenes showing their POV.
I thought the episode established that Prometheus was the son of the man Ollie killed in the flashbacks (or at least established that Team Arrow thinks it's him.)
I do wonder how Prometheus managed to figure out how Ollie was trained and follow in his footsteps.
Of course, with the Russian connection, they seemed to linger on the bottle of Russian vodka Ollie's reporter girlfriend poured for him long enough to make me think something is up with her.
Also, are my ears correct in telling me that Michael Dorn is voicing Prometheus?

Yeah, remember a few episodes back, one of her connections gave her a photo of Ollie in Russia from 5 years ago, so now she knows he wasn't on the island the whole time. Whatever she's doing, she's playing a long con there.

That's so incredibly boring that surely it's not true. It has virtually no impact on the viewers if it's some heretofore-unmentioned illegitimate son of a pharma company owner from a fake flashback.
Felicity did say that someone came back from the dead almost every Wednesday.
This is so gonna jerk around Quentin (some more). I mean, enough with Schrodinger's daughters already!
Yikes, seriously. It's like, good news! Laurel came back while you were in rehab! Bad news, she died again before you got out.
I'm with those who aren't convinced this is actual Laurel, of course.
Sometimes I get cranky about shows where people don't stay dead. Lazarus pit, alien blood transfusion, whatever ... and they aren't even zombified.

Avoid Soap Operas. Just sayin'.
oh, THAT I know. And Buffy. And Angel. And ... well, you probably know more than I ....
