Take a shower beforehand; you don't want to be too warm when you go in. Bring a towel to sit on. Drink plenty of water beforehand, and don't stay too long. Keep an eye on the clock if you can.
I miss the sauna: I find it very relaxing. But it's not for everyone, and I haven't really done the sauna since I started really having hot flashes. It might not be as nice now.

Also. I love saunas but a few minutes is enough. Consuela's advice is good: hydrate and cool not cold shower before, don't stay too long until you discover how it will affect you.

I would expect to not taste the mayo. When I use it in corn bread, the corn bread does not taste like corn bread that I slathered mayo on. Might conceiveably be noticeable if using ground turkeynrather than beef, but beef is a stronger flavor than corn.
