Simon: Captain... why did you come back for us? Mal: You're on my crew. Simon: Yeah, but you don't even like me. Why'd you come back? Mal: You're on my crew. Why we still talking about this?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ok, whatever's on top of the stack in the freezer it is!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am done and home.

Before I got home, I asked mac if he wanted to go out for lunch, he said no. Then he asked if he could go over to friend's house, I said sure. So I run an errand and get myself some take out and I get home, he is still here and has he eaten? nope.

I have gotten a load of laundry in, taken the dog out to the yard and got myself set up in my chair with my lunch and the computer and NOW he asked me if he can drive there (I have to go with) instead of walking the like 9 blocks. UM NO.

I'm waiting to hear back from neighbors about going on a field trip for good inexpensive steak tonight. I just made deadline on a major project goal, so I am inclined to reward myself with or without company.

I want a decent cheeseburger. But it's Friday night of a holiday weekend. Cheeseburger for lunch tomorrow.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Steph, I'm sorry it's so hard. Dementia is heart-breaking as well as mind-breaking.

tommyrot, here's hoping you find a good new job soon.

flea, what a horrible situation.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Steph, I'm sorry it's so hard. Dementia is heart-breaking as well as mind-breaking.

I know dementia can't be stopped, but I'm hoping that with (much) better nutrition*, social interaction, and physical activity, his quality of life will improve.

*(He has been living on apple turnovers, pulled pork BBQ, microwave pizzas, Oreos, Chips Ahoy, Milky Ways, and Yuengling beer for a VERY long time. Years. I know this because Tim and I are the ones who get his groceries for him. He didn't want anything else, and if we tried to buy him anything remotely vegetable-like, it would just rot. Only in the past 6 months has he consented to let us buy him 3 bananas a week, which he did actually eat.)

Steph, for my MiL it was the best thing we could have done for her. She had tons of friends, a lot of activities - bingo every day, and theme meals (with booze!) and movie nights. She did much better there. We were all very sad when we had to move her for 24-hour nursing care.

ION, I want to make meatloaf this weekend, but I don't have any eggs. I don't want to buy a dozen, or even a half-dozen, because I don't like eggs by themselves and I don't cook with eggs except for meatloaf. Is there a substitute for eggs in meatloaf? Should I make more meatloaf in my future?

Thrive to spite them

Connie, I htink some people use bread and milk. I got a cookbook out from the library that used unflavored gelatin as a binder instead of egg

I baked bread! Used the kitchenaid mixer and it was fast and the bread was tasty! I also cooked steaks for dinner. I am still trying to make pizza dough from scratch but so far my attempts have not worked out.

Tomorrow I make real snickerdoodles with cream of tartar. I made them last weekend without because we didn't have any.
