this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

We have a meeting in about an hour at the skilled nursing facility where Tim's dad is, with the family and members of his medical team and his care manager, to talk about what the next steps for him are. Tim's dad will be at the meeting -- as he should be, since it's his future we're talking about.

To my knowledge, none of his sons have said to him explicitly that going back home would be unsafe for him and they can't handle taking care of him at home any longer. I wish one of them would have had that difficult conversation before this meeting, because Tim's dad is really going to feel like this is being sprung on him. He's going to feel ganged-up on.

This is not going to be easy. But it has to be done. Gah.

Art Crawl!!!

Dana - I have definitely made some mistake that meant that I had to go back and do many many other things to rectify. (This is happening to me currently with two different sock projects I have on the needles. . . its the sort of thing that makes me less excited about my beloved hobby.)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Isn't it great that we all make mistakes and complicate our lives? Go us.

Doctor's appt consisted almost entirely of discussing the MRI, an open MRI being not powerful enough. I said, great! Point me to the sedation I will need!

So now I have to wait for the scheduler to call me.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

My parents are staying with us this weekend, on their way north. Yes, during Passover, which makes things more complicated. Joy.

Work really sucked AGAIN today. Everyone had an emergency and push to go live with this new thing that is woefully unthought through and then I discover it hasn't been working right for 2 weeks and no one noticed because no one thought to put in checks and I'm just LIVID.

And today was supposed to be a short day because I'm inching toward uncompensated overtime territory because the disaster this month has been, but oh well. Going to try hard as hell for a half day tomorrow

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I only looked at my email to delete meeting invitations and stuff while I was off work for two days, and I have 73 unread emails, which I guess isn't bad, but I hope there's only the one kerfuffle I'm prepared for.

But y'all, one of my friend is having the best work night ever. She's seated next to Dr. Carla Hayden, the Librarian of Congress at a dinner. As if that's not inherently cool, my friend is a major Dr. Hayden fangirl to begin with.
