I have come to realize that I have a similar issue where questions I ask are perceived as challenges when they truly are just me looking to acquire additional information. I don't know what to do about that.
When I'm doing it well, I try to listen to myself and double-check that the person is hearing what I mean to be saying.
Oh, NB: In a separate conversation this week, my boss did that that this particular team member "needs to take a chill pill." So I am pretty confident this particular situation isn't 100% on me.

Yesterday I was sitting at my computer desk, bent down to get something(probably something for Mr. S) and hit my mouth on the desk. Didn't cut my lip, but I did manage to bite the inside of my bottom lip. There's a sore bit there that I can't seem to avoid. Ugh.
Maybe we could trade Trump for Angela Merkel.
Um, no thanks, we'll keep Merkel if that's OK. Until September, then she may be going anyway. If that's the case you could possibly have her then.
As an idea for a trade, Merkel for Obama has a lot more potential.

I actually stayed in bed until 8:30 this morning. The rest of the household is out and about. I feel like a sloth! To extend my streak I am browsing and reading and pretending I have no work to do.
I'm being slothy, too. I'm watching the 'Spurs football game over tea and toast. Eventually I'll get a shower and go to my hair appointment. On the whole, it seems like a nice day to relax.
My sloth breakfast has been 5 peanut butter filled pretzels washed down with Emergen C and all the coffee. Apparently all of S Florida is sick and I don't have time for that crap. I have never had the flu in my life and I do not intend to ruin that streak. It gets trickier next week because I have a lot of training to do in various doctor's offices. I see hand sanitizer in my future!
It's no wonder I'm wary in the spring, my Facebook memories have been showing me that my personal major medical events take place at this time year. I always did prefer the fall.
The lawn guy showed up and I had to go outside in my pajamas and unshowered. Well, that's what happens when you come by at the ungodly early hour of 10:30am on a Saturday.
I slept in until 8, although for the last 40 minutes the dog sat next to my bed staring intently at me. So nice to sleep in, though.
