Our wings are not tired.

I managed to sleep 9 hours, but I really need more. And yet, stuff to do.

My closest friend locally supports Trump. She is the very opposite of a political person and has been an enthusiastic supporter of both Giuliani and Obama. Although for some reason she hates Michelle Obama and seems to now hate the president too. I refuse to discuss politics with her at all now. Although she has been to all events at my house she was surprised when I didn't invite her to watch the debates with me. I am going to tell her straight up that I don't want her to come over for Taco Tuesday because I only want people around me who are going to be celebrating.

I know I am excusing her, but ALL of the men in her life, father, brother, boyfriends, have been abusive. She doesn't get that Trump is not normal. As mentioned, I don't talk politics with her anymore, but I have pulled no punches when telling her that her dad, brother, and the men in her life are not normal. She does accept that and sees the difference between them and normal men, but she isn't to the place where she will see this in Trump. It makes me sad, but I can't write her off. At least she won't vote for Rubio! So points there.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Older half sisters who I met once or twice as a child, and who my sister met for the very first time this year. And is now FB friends with. I don't think my sister even knew they existed until about 5 years ago. It's a weird parallel thing - virtually zero interaction for most of my life, but they were, I think, as close or closer with my grandparents.

Families, man.

A friend of a friend literally said on Facebook: " I think it is in your every right to vote for Hillary. I just ask for the same respect back even though I am voting for a crazy, racist Cheeto."

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

I'm assuming my dad and my FiL are voting for Trump, but I haven't asked them (and won't).

The local news had a story about patients with Alzheimer disease, and whether they should be allowed to vote (the upshot is, according to Ohio law, unless someone is declared mentally incompetent by probate court, they can vote): [link]

Yikes -- my massage therapist was just telling me that someone went to her friend's mother's dementia unit to "help" them vote. I have slightly mixed feelings, actually. Apparently the mother couldn't tell you what year it is or who the president is, but I bet she knows what party she prefers.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Dad~ma msbelle.

"Helping" people with dementia vote just gives me a queasy feeling.

There are people who absolutely convinced that Trump and Clinton are "equally bad" so they might as well vote for their party. Thank you modern media and your constant false equivalence.

brillig

I bet she knows what party she prefers.

I remember a lot of older people who would never vote for any Democrat because of That Man, ie, FDR, who was despised in a lot of circles for the New Deal.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Health~ma to your dad, msbelle.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It occurs to me that I have been poked and prodded in many ways over the past few days, basically all by choice -- gave blood Thursday, extra-hard massage Friday, teeth cleaning this morning. At least that's all done!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

::reschedule Jesse's alien probe for a less pokey-proddy time::

I feel bad that this is where my mind goes, but now I'm really curious about the effects of, say, political ads on voting patterns in dementia a patients.

I didn't get very far with Cleaning All the Things last night. I mean, I did a lot, but there is way more cleaning to be done. Fortunately, this morning DirecT's automatic system called me to see if I wanted to confirm, cancel, or change my appointment, so I moved it to Tuesday (forgetting that I need to vote, but depending on when the polls open I can vote either before or after my window and have a good excuse for working from home). Now I'm dressed for serious business with my Cranky Pants and Malarkey shirt and have the whole weekend to see what I can do.

And also catch up on some TV, because I need breaks.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

A friend of a friend literally said on Facebook: " I think it is in your every right to vote for Hillary. I just ask for the same respect back even though I am voting for a crazy, racist Cheeto."

Foaf has a right to the vote but not to respect. Especially when they acknowledge that they're voting for a crazy, racist Cheeto.

I feel bad that this is where my mind goes, but now I'm really curious about the effects of, say, political ads on voting patterns in dementia a patients.

I would guess the ads wouldn't have a big effect on those with short-term memory issues, but it probably varies wildly for each individual.

I am standing up to post this because if I'm sitting a cat parks on me right as I'm ready to get up and do something. I really need to get the remaining extra furniture out of my home and go pick up my Theracane from work so that I can destroy the knots in my neck before the weekend ends.
