I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Why the fuck is Mike Huckabee apparently pursuing a second career as a stand-up comedian?

Ann, that's a ferret.

Are you sure that he's trying to do that? Stand-up comedians are supposed to be funny.

Maybe it's some undiagnosed disease that causes him to spew one-liners on Twitter.

Our wings are not tired.

However we do not always get along very well- she gets paranoid and I get frustrated, so that is probably out.

Ugh. A close friend here has been going back and forth with trying to live with her mother, or have her mother live with her, and it just doesn't work. They both want it to in theory, but such different personalities. Parents! It is really very complicated.

I've laughed at Huckabee, but not recently. I find little in politics amusing anymore.

Punishingly Intricate

There is also CarMax which is a chain of big used car places that have no haggling and prices that are acceptable though you won't get the best deals there.

I bought my 2nd car (out of 3) from CarMax and it was a relatively stress-free experience. I know very little about cars (and don't care much) and did NOT want to haggle and it was totally fine. Maybe I spent more money than if I'd tried another route but it was worth it.

Good luck, Sophia! It sounds like making yourself more mobile is definitely the best option.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh. I am having weird symptoms and I don't want to go to the doctor but I probably should. Pins and needles yesterday down my arm and today on my back/neck (but not really my arm anymore). Probably I have weirdly irritated nerves or something?

Ugh. I am currently really regretting going to the spine doctor about my back because today he confirmed I do indeed have a displaced nerve poking out between two of my lumbar. And if pain/numbness keep returning I'll need to get an epidural steroid injection.

I sincerely hope you get better news if you do go see someone. Which, while I'm blathering on, I'd recommend starting up with physical therapy, not the spine doctor, since he'll just send you over to PT and PT was the most beneficial thing I've done for my back so far.

Blargh.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I hope the injection helps, Burrell, and doesn't need to be repeated.

I can't find my official appraisal from last year with my goals and whatnot, just my draft. And the one from two years ago. What the hell, past self? Where did you put it?

ETA Ha, posting makes it happen! Found it.

Thanks -t, I am still hoping I might not need it, but my hope grows dimmer every week.

Oh, I didn't realize that - I hope you can successfully avoid, then!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Mr. S is on the waiting list for child care at my work.(There are two on-campus facilities and one off-campus. A third on-campus facility is being built.) I just got an e-mail saying that a spot in the smaller on-campus facility(It's literally a trailer.) is open now. We're trying to figure out what to decide. On the one hand, if we decline he goes to the bottom of the waiting list. On the other hand, Mr. S has been at his current daycare since he was 6 weeks old(he's 20 months now) and has made lots of friends.

We have to decide by Thursday. Sigh...
