Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I can't even with the insurance company, which does not really convey the depths of my loathing.
The $21,000 drug? It does actually say on the website that it's not covered. What it shows is: Drug name, COVERED PRICE, and then a note saying oh, by the way, this isn't covered.
Also the note looks exactly the same as the note that a drug requires pre-authorization, so I totally missed it.
I don't remember where we discuss Great British Bakeoff, but I have to put my reaction somewhere. The new Mel and Sue of GBBO are...Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding. NOEL FIELDING? This Noel Fielding?
I do not like Sandi Toksvig. I can't wait to see where Mel and Sue and Mary end up.
Noel Fielding? Of the Mighty Boosh? And Never Mind the Buzzcocks?
I suddenly feel the urge to rewatch some Big Fat Quiz episodes to see if Noel actually eats any of the treats people frequently bring on, because while I'm reasonably sure Noel isn't actually a vampire, I really don't associate him with pastries, bread, or iced buns in any way.
Timelies all!
Meh. Tired and sore.
I know I've seen Sandi Toskvig, and even so I still have very little idea of who she is.
On the other hand, Richmond? t cackles for MILES
It's back!
I've decided to sell my mineral rights. I did research into natural gas futures, and there is currently a glut in the market. The current leaseholders can't pay royalties till they start to drill, and they haven't even applied for a permit to drill, and that takes nearly a year to finalize. I suspect they're delaying till the market turns in their favor, however long that may be. My sister, who holds the other half of my branch of the family's share, is holding out for royalties, probably in hopes of decent future income. I haven't the heart to tell her that the stories I've found show that the companies pay as little as they can manage, citing the costs of production and market vagaries. I have hinted about uncertainties, but she brushes them off. She's as smart as I am, and I don't know her financial status. She may be able to absorb the uncertainties.
Me, I want to pay off my credit cards, put a chunk of money into an account that will actually pay interest, and have a largish cushion in case my car decides to have another major part fail (I'm going to need new shock absorbers soon). If it was a declared, fixed amount that I could expect in royalties, I'd keep the rights, but the mineral rights game is way too murky for my comfort.
Uhg, install day. 10 hours and no swim because no lanes from 6:30 until 8:30 and I got home at 6. And I don't want to swim that late.
I'm just tired. Dyeing my hair, though.
