"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

My run to get lunch turned into a lost-doggie escapade. Fortunately, there were no shortage of people trying to catch this guy. Boston Terrier who apparently got out of a garage while people were working at the house, and two guys working at a different garage saw him take off. Between them, me, and the woman who was out jogging, we grabbed him, and they were headed off to return him. Fortunately this happened before I had to sacrifice my sandwich to the dog to get him to stop running.

I'm amused by the close proximity of two different meanings for AMA

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

So, I just signed up to be a poll greeter on election day (early morning shift) and now I'm nervous. Tell me I'm not going to be shot by a Trump supporter.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I have exchanged my Cubs ulcer for an election ulcer. Unlike a lot of folks here, I'm not real Hillary fan, but I think she'll make a decent president and I just can't understand how so many people can't see how mind-bogglingly terrible Trump is.

I have a friend who loves Obama, but she absolutely despises Hillary and is voting for Trump. It's absolutely infuriating that she wants to vote for the man that is planning on dismantling Obama's legacy the instant he takes office. But there's no reasoning with her.

ION, I'm going through the oh-so-wonderful process of car shopping because my old car died on Sunday and my mechanic told me the engine is shot and it's not worth pouring any more money into it. The junker isn't even paying me enough to cover the cost of having it towed to my mechanic and having it looked at. Whee.

I'm also having a tough time finding reliable information. I'm looking for a mid-sized car 2-3 years old that won't break the bank and every time a find one that is recommended by one site another site says it's completely terrible.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

No shooting Glamcookie! I'm desperately avoiding thinking about the campaign. I voted, there's nothing more I can do--worrying won't affect anything. Doesn't stop me, though, so, avoidance. I'd much rather talk alcohol.

flea, I'm fond of Meyers Dark over ice. And of course, the aforementioned pina coladas. But dark over ice is simple and pretty nummy. You do it right (slow pour), and the rum forms a slight crust on the ice. Fun to play with after the liquid has been consumed.

Probably hard to go wrong with your Honda Civics and equivalents, I would think.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Kalshane, have you looked at Consumer Reports? I tend to buy Toyotas by default at this point (the Corolla is my third Toyota in 20 years), but the 2013 Corolla we bought last year was rated very well by CR.

Also, the best price we found was at Hertz. Their price is generally lower than any dealer, and they don't haggle. (They will give you the hard sell on an extended warranty, though.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I wish I could help with any of that, Kalshane, but I have no idea.

Lots of Dad~ma, msbelle.

In my head, I like rum. Cheap rum has a plasticky taste or aftertaste that I don't care for, and lately I have been detecting the same flavor in better rums, so maybe I don't actually like rum. IDK. It seems so appealing, somehow, it's hard for me to accept the possibility that I don't actually like the taste. Anyway, as far as flea's buying some goes, I recommend splurging on something fairly expensive because in my limited experience you can definitely taste the difference, but I have no specific recommendations. juliana needs to weigh in on this.

Election cake sounds good but also like too much work. I will stick with my Nasty Woman cocktail.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Kalshane, my DH is a car reviewer. I just emailed him. I'll let you know his answer when I get it.
