The excellent chocolate store in my neighborhood is owned and run by a woman, so I may need to buy chocolate today.

My silence is being noted in the office. I usually greet everyone and take a mid morning break to visit with people. The coworker who visits with me the least just stopped by to ask about my vacation next week.
Being off FB is hard.
I am getting the pink in my hair redone and increased and I think I will go buy cupcakes from the woman owned bakery.
Is it OK to spend money if I'm buying a major appliance for a woman? My mom needs a new dishwasher and tonight is the evening she picked to go shopping for it.
My classic rock station regularly plays women. The morning guy loves Heart.
Like a pathetic member of the bourgeoisie, I'm at work munching on the breakfast the company supplied for Women's Day. And I forgot about red.
I'm wearing red, but working--had I known about this earlier I could've but didn't hear until after I'd already taken most of yesterday off!
And since I just got home from a week long trip yesterday I really do need to spend money today...are there women owned grocery stores? If I go to the co-op does that count?
I'm wearing red, but I'm not working right now, so I couldn't take the day off. Only did minimal housework though - I made the bed and emptied the dishwasher because I couldn't live with myself otherwise, but definitely not doing any extra sweeping/mopping/dusting or anything today.
Yesterday I took a train 40 mins to hang out at the Humane Society with some cats, and I didn't realize that I am literally around the corner from Miami-Dade Animal Services. I think I'll head over there this afternoon. I'm having trouble deciding if I think I'm allergic to cats! I was a tad sniffly yesterday morning before I ever went near one, and it didn't get any worse after having some cats crawl all over me. I'm paranoid, though - we want a cat, but I don't want to get it home and THEN realize it makes me sick - I could never bring it back to a shelter. So I guess I'll check out another shelter and see if I can get some more cats crawling all over. I hope I can have one :(
Good luck with the cat cuddling, zuisa!
Keep in mind that shelters, by necessity, use a LOT of solvents, fragrances, etc. Sniffliness could be triggered by other stuff.
meara, I'd vote for the co-op, in any case. I desperately wish there was one in my neighborhood. Especially since TJs is coming in, which will functionally kill the 200 year old Market right out my window. :{
I'm doing laundry. My home-labor effects no one but Cagney. He's snoozing in a sunbeam at the mo. Dreaming of running for office, no doubt. Or, maybe a bully stick. Probably the bully stick, if we're honest.
Excitement for the day this far, calculating that I could decrease my 401K contribution by 1%. Getting a whole 45$ more per paycheck.
I'm doing my laundry, but I always do my own laundry. If I decided to not do it today in protest, the only person it would hurt is me, because I need clean underwear.
Way to make a difference, aurelia!
Good luck zuisa!
I think buying your mom a dishwasher and grocery shopping at a co-op are both ideologically sound.
I'm wearing red, have noticed one other person in the office who is but haven't asked her yet if that was a coincidence. I'm going to have to buy lunch because otherwise I won't be able to eat, I think I will get it from the family-owned Thai restaurant I like, there are definitely women in the family. Kinda want to shop at the consignment store that I know is owned by a couple of women who live in Suisun, but they are only open while I am at work and I don't think I can take a long enough lunch to make that work. Maybe I can pop in for a minute and see if anything catches my eye and isn't too expensive.
Starbucks is double points today and I am conflicted about it.
