Lorne: Take care of yourself and ah, make sure fluffy is getting enough love. Gunn: Did he have anything? Fred: No. And who's fluffy? Are you fluffy? Gunn: He called me fluffy? Fred: He said make sure…wait. You don't think he was referring to anything of mine that's fluffy, do you? Because that would just be inappropriate.

Thrive to spite them

I like to think that W has been positively influenced by his daughters.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have my blue extensions! I posted a picture to FB and have a small bet with myself about my mother's reaction. I'm guessing it will start with a somewhat ambiguous "Wow."

Our wings are not tired.

I have my blue extensions!

Love it!

Yay Dana!

I found a quiet wine bar in Petaluma and it turns out it's singer-songwriter night. Which is still better than watching the SOTU.

My training is at the same place where all the cooks for my agency get trained. As a result the cafeteria food is Awesome. Today I had swordfish with white beans for $4.85. Plus they have free Its-Its!

... I just got a free cookie from one of the singer songwriter people. The evening is looking up!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

This is the time of year when I feel a little bereft that I've never tried paczki, but they aren't really a thing in LA.

So, Burrell, the are too hard to find here, though you can find plenty of Armenian bakeries that make an approximation called a ponchik. I had one today filled with nutella.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I bought paczki for my crew today. There were nutella/chocolate, raspberry, and key lime.

This morning I got a very nice email from the Associate Lighting Designer of the pre-Broadway show we did last season (now in tech on Broadway) telling us that all the set electrics that we wired worked perfectly right off the truck, but everything built or modified in NY was a disaster. So that was nice. For us. Less so for them.

I have my blue extensions!

Nice! I think I've settled on a color scheme for my hair if I ever get around to having it done. I'd like the bulk of it to be the auburn I'd be if I ever spent time in the sun except for the white streaks at my temples which I'd like to make whiter and more pronounced.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Courtesy of my grandmother, here's a quick Polish lesson: "Paczki" (without an -s on the end) is the plural, pronounced (more or less) "poonch-key". "Paczek" is the singular, pronounced (more or less) "pon-chek".

And the only reason I busted in here with Polish pedantry is because the Armenian ponchik sounds so much like the pronunciation for "paczek" (the singular for paczki).

Polish lesson over. (I also know how to say "My ass is full" in Polish, but I sure can't spell it.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That's great! For you. Not them. But...obviously you know your shit.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Good news, I did not get a root canal. Bad news, it's because the pain is from a cavity which is mostly under the gum, so they are going to pull the tooth and give me an implant. But not yet so I have to walk around for bit more with a hurty tooth.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Aw, I hope you have some effective painkillers meanwhile!
