You like ships. You don't seem to be looking at the destinations. What you care about is the ships, and mine's the nicest.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Symptoms include getting more tense while listening to George Winston.

Is that even physically possible? I mean, it's George Winston.

I just pulled the trigger on my ski trip to Colorado. Now realizing that United's baggage fees are so outrageous that it may be cheaper to rent skis there than to bring my own gear with me...

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Thanks for the ma, all. I have been the doyenne of bland food making these last days. I haven't made Jello from a packet in 30 years. Well, without adding vodka to it.

Mom's doing much better. I, OTOH, am very ready to go home after 5 days.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I tried to go to a Resistance startup meeting today at the library. The library has two big parking lots and an overflow lot. All full. There wasn't a spot to be had within walking distance. So yay for the great turnout, but I'm a bit sad to miss it.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

IKR? My driving music has to be relaxing, so I can get in the right frame of mind for work. Guess it's back to James Taylor...

If JT starts making me feel tense, I'll drive straight to the hospital.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Maybe you need something raucous to let the tension out.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

We spent five hours at the zoo. I'm wiped.

I've had a strange relationship with music ever since my trailer in Arizona got broken into, twenty years ago or so. The burglars took most of my CDs, and it kind of broke something in me. While I have bought more music over the intervening years, I can no longer simply listen to music the way I used to do. I can have the radio on while I am doing something, and a lot of music that I used to love, I hear it, recognize its aesthetic value, but can't bear to listen.

That's awful, WS. Stealing your CDs is bad enough, but stealing your joy in the music they contained is even worse. I hope the thieve's favorite foods turn to ashes in their mouths.

Granola with fresh fruit: Is anyone else watching the Oscars red carpet? I'm liking the top to bottom pleats on Trudy's, Sting's wife, dress. I also like that Sting hasn't traded her in on a younger model.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Agreed!!
