There is always so much noise and activity and crazy in my day that I developed the habit of getting up early and relishing the quiet and calm. I used to sit outside and listen to the birds while drinking my coffee, but now I tend to catch up on the internet. I think maybe I should go back to sitting outside in my jammies in the early morn.

o_a, naps are most excellent. I could use one right now myself.
I can usually fake being a morning person as needed, but I'm much more of a night owl.
Tomorrow I'm really going to have to fake it. My flight back to Denver should get me home around midnight, then it typically takes me an hour to wind down before I can really sleep (night owl). Then I have to be in the office and AWAKE by 8am for a meeting with my new manager. We will only have 30 minutes to meet before she has other meetings and then I'll likely drive back home to do my real work from home.
I am 100% a morning person. Unashamedly so. I woke up at 4:30 without an alarm today (it's not a gym day for me) and got some work done. Early is better for me. But by 6:00 PM, I'm done thinking.
I used to be a night owl, but now I'm no good between 9 pm and 9 am.
I can rarely get to bed before midnight, but I'm up and functional at 7 AM. I'm so habituated to 7 AM that I normally only sleep in till 8:30 or 9 on weekends.
I'm with Matt--I feel like I used to be a night owl, and now I'm sleepy at night AND in the morning!
Naps are excellent - Crazy Ex Girlfriend says so.
I'm a "mornings are for coffee and contemplation" type if I can't sleep in. I kind of wish I could get into a morning exercise routine though.
I have been trying to get up before ltc to drink tea and read. It's hard for me, but it makes me a better mother.
For me, the difference in the morning isn't much. Just an hour or two more of sleep makes me a functioning, happy human being. Work had a delayed start until 10 one day last week, because of snow, and I stayed in bed until 8:30, and I was a much more alert person all day.
On the weekends, I often get up at 7, or whenever the cat insists, stay up for an hour or so, and if I'm tired, go back to bed for a few more hours.
