Comcast is the worst.
I found a job that is kind of the opposite of what I've been telling myself I wanted (smaller org, mostly), but reads like it plays to my actual strengths and not all the things I think I should be better at. But I just re-read the posting, and it says 7 years of experience in an academic setting is required. I definitely don't have that. Apply anyway? I guess I'd better. I can fluff up my resume to play up the academic stuff I have done.
Yes, apply anyway.
The supervisor, who the rep swore would just tell me the same thing, actually understood what I was saying and got the damn thing refunded. Fuck you one last time, Comcast. At least until we move again.
Apply and fluff.
You're giving me flashbacks, Dana. Comcast tried to hit me with an unreturned equipment fee for something I never actually had, but i had to go in to the office for some other reason and while I was there a human being looked at my records and said "oh, it says right here you never had that equipment, let me get rid of that fee". Such a weird combination of annoyingly byzantine and absurdly easy.
My town fortunately has another option to Comcast, though slightly more expensive. I've been pleased with them.
Well, that was a pain in the ass, but at least it's done?
Whhhhyyyyy is my skin freaking ouuuuut.
Can I just say that having a political tweet go viral gets you the best art projects from everywhere. (No. Really not the best. NOT the best at all. Block block report report gahhhh)
Also I'm trying to not imagine my happy laugh if all those people RT/liking would buy a book.
So, a local, non-Buffista-adjacent friend just posted that Tweet on FB, and I piped up to say I know you and ohbytheway, you should check out her books. Two minutes later my friend replied "I'm looking on Amazon right now while I wait to see Dr. Strange."
My work here is done.
Whine whine whine: After two diligent hours, I have floundered my way through most of the state propositions (need to research 52, which I don't understand at all and am bitterly angry at because why do we bother sending people to Sacramento to do this stuff for a living if they force helpless voters to wrestle with crap like this?, but I think the rest of them are more or less sorted out) and made it to SF Proposition C (we have A-X and then RR thrown in just for fun) before I ran out of steam.
I'm starting to get that looming-AP-exam doomy feeling that I did not miss one bit when it faded away decades ago.
Oh Steph your work is the best. Thank you.
Oh, crap, I need to read all the propositions this weekend. Or Monday? Definitely need to make time for that.
I think you just earned some kind of patch, Tep!
