My doctor's office, bless them forever, now has a service where you can get an online evaluation for 8 or 10 common (but also simple to treat) conditions/illnesses.
AWESOME. This is genius.

First day of actual vacation--eye checkup, all good. Doc baffled why I'm so much happier with unassisted vision than that staring through his thingie of many lenses--possibly because I'm not dealing with lens distortion, and near 20/20 without help makes me very happy. Tomorrow I take the car to the shop to find out why half the time when I turn the key it doesn't do anything. The rest of today: waiting for my eyes to not be dialated and ordering a pizza for dinner. Woo, I live large.
Is today your birthday, Connie? Will there be macarons?
Today is indeed my birthday. Payday is Wednesday. There will be macarons on Wednesday.
Happy Birthday! And enjoy your pizza today! Having macarons to look forward to is pretty good, too.
Happy Birthday!
Stack #2 done at work. Did the other 2 personal To dos, so all work work for the rest of the day.
Happy Birthday Connie!
I did an exploratory shovel down the front steps. The drifts are hip deep. And there's snow and wind forecast for another 12 hours.
Otherwise, it's been a perfectly lazy snowday.
Happy birthday, Connie! I was thinking about getting a heart-shaped pizza just because they are available and they always remind me of the time we set one en flambé for the birthday of one of my dorm-mates in college and he tried to blow it out - towards me. Good times. Anyway, getting one in your honor, Connie, is the perfect excuse!
Taking Monday's remains the best possible gift to myself. As my boss has said a couple of times now, we should all work this schedule all the time; 5 days is too much. After a busy-with-fun weekend, I am spending today in my bathrobe with a pot of tea and supernatural police-procedural novels. Bliss.
I have to go back to the eye doctor next week. I really, really hate the "better 1 ... or 2" ... they're usually close enough that it's impossible to say. After cataract surgery, it seems that my vision isn't changing any more ... but I still have to go through that interminable switching of lenses.
Happy birthday, Connie!
NS does get vast amounts of snow Sue, by my standards, and I grew up in Northern Ontario with 10' snowbanks. These days, in Toronto, we get 4cm and it is panic stations (mostly because traffic becomes a nightmare).
