And Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

Thrive to spite them

The way they look plus some of the way they talk ..They are supposed to be sophomores right so 15 and of course don't look it.

The only thing I've watched in awhile that is set in high school is Girl Meets World and those are teenagers playing teens

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Gommel/gomeral is a great word.

What the heck is blind baking?

Coding and Sleeping

I like to think it means you blindfold yourself before mixing ingredients.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Blind baking is just pre-baking a pie crust. You weigh it down with something so the crust will keep its shape and not form a big bubble in the middle of what's eventually going to be your bottom crust.

Riverdale's teens look even older to me than Dawson's Creek's teens did back in the day! And I have to think the writers are deliberately teasing us with the geography, because in the pilot they have the cheerleaders talking about the competition over in Rockland County, which would seem to put Riverdale in either Riverdale or Riverdale. But in the next ep Veronica's getting cupcakes flown in from New York, which would put it...elsewhere.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

True, but then I think of 90210, with Luke Perry (who is craggy as HELL in Riverdale!) and whatshername who played Andrea, who was SUPER old to be playing a teenager.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

sarameg, you know what else is good in oatmeal cookies? butterscotch chips - I used to make oatmeal cookies with those for my sister who hated raisins and she'd actually eat them.

Our wings are not tired.

So how 'bout that football game? I watched very little this season and wanted the other guys to pull it off for the big game. Oh well, even as a die-hard Brady hater I have to say they deserved the win. At least the rabid Pats fans had some heart failure for a while there.

I was pretty pleased with the commercials. I haven't bothered to see who the trumpsters are calling to boycott. But I had some warm and fuzzy feelings for a few of the ads.

Good game, good company, good food. And now it is Monday. Oh well.

eta: butterscotch chips are always welcomed

Because books.

Mmm, butterscotch oatmeal cookies. Yes.

As an entirely non-football person, I have to ask -- why does everyone hate Tom Brady?
