just discovered that our bank's bill payment has been sending things a day or two late. As in, a day or two after the due date.
WTFFFFFF
This is like when I realized that my bank gave me an "online payment" option that would cut a check and mail it on the day I selected to pay a bill. So if I wanted to pay my rent on time, I had to take the mail delay into account.
The previous bank would say, when do you want it to arrive, and you chose the date. This bank says, when do you want to send it? So then you have to open a stupid calendar and play with the dates until it's arriving around the right time. EXCEPT WHEN IT DOESN'T.
Shir, it is good to see you here.
Thanks for the birthday greetings, Shir and Matt, and anyone else I haven't thanked yet.
flea, I'm sorry about the job. I'll second or third the superhero librarian idea.
I was trying to remember that, Hec. It's a long time since I read the series, but I thought that was a thing that happened.
I had a salad for lunch, so that means I can make mac and cheese for dinner, right?

It's a weird
gender-swap that's canon in the books that I found disturbing as a kid. Not so much that Tip turned into Ozma but that all of his friends stood around and said, "Well, that's okay. Girls are obviously better than stinky old boys." Which my 9 year old self took exception with. But now I appreciate the gender flippy surreality of it more. Also it adds some frisson to Dorothy and Ozma's quite-obviously-a-love-relationship.

From the Washington Post's article about the first few days of Trump:
As his press secretary, Sean Spicer, was still unpacking boxes in his spacious new West Wing office, Trump grew increasingly and visibly enraged.
Pundits were dissing his turnout....
But Trump was adamant, aides said. Over the objections of his aides and advisers — who urged him to focus on policy and the broader goals of his presidency — the new president issued a decree: He wanted a fiery public response, and he wanted it to come from his press secretary.
Is there anyone who didn't know this was exactly how it must have happened?

Pissy little manbaby.
ION, we saw Postmodern Jukebox tonight, and while there was no Tambourine Guy, they KILLED IT. That may be the only version of "My Heart Will Go On" that I don't despise.
Anyone see the latest This Is Us? How do they do that? How do they tell a story we already know and make us cry all over again?
