Happiest of birthdays, Windy!
Okay, I just did two modules in my Stanford class. I've also done laundry, emptied the dishwasher, taken out the garbage, washed the bedding, and even I ate a salad for dinner. Oh, and I volunteered to do a thing for the political action group I joined. I had a bad mental health week, so I'm giving myself gold stars.
shrift's list of stuff done tired me out so I am going to bed now. Also, well done with the productivity!
I was proud of myself for just buying new throw pillows for the couch.
I like to set the bar so low that I can just step over it.
Well deserved, gold stars!
Tech~ma, erika.
I remember getting instruction on exactly how we were expected to not say the pledge if we elected not to, so I am quite certain it wasn't required. And we had it every morning until graduation. Followed by a moment of silence that everyone knew was supposed to be prayer.
There's a low-key FB argument happening on a friend's wall (so none of y'all can see it) about whether the bottom drawer in an electric oven is a warming drawer. One dude is ADAMANT that only gas ovens have warming drawers, and I am 2 seconds away from going ASSCAPS on him with COME OVER AND LET ME STICK YOUR HEAD IN MY ELECTRIC OVEN'S WARMING DRAWER MOTHERFUCKER.
But that feels like an overreaction.
I aspired to do much more than I actually did today. As usual. I made a couple of decisions that I think are good, so, clinging to that.
I didn't know the bottom bit of a gas oven was a warming drawer. I thought it was the broiler.
No drawers on any of my ovens. I have fake warming compartments on my superficially cast iron stove (which has an oven and is electric) but the design is for a wood stove and without heat going up the chimney the warming compartments do not actually warm. There is an extra door underneath the oven that is in the wall, but it just opens onto the floor of the closet. Because the oven is in what clearly used to be a coat closet. Former owners made some idiosyncratic choices when they redid the kitchen, to put it mildly.
In my experience, gas ovens have broilers underneath, not warming drawers. Can you use yours to proof bread dough, Tep? That would make me jealous.
